La diferencia en la tabla lo decía todo antes de empezar el partido. El Atlético es un equipo infinitamente superior al actual Valencia y eso fue demaiado para Javi Gracia. El técnico aseguró que este no era el campo idóneo para recueprar los puntos perdidos. No lo fue.
Demasiada diferencia
"Empezar el partido como lo hemos hecho, poniéndonos por delante nos ha dado el respaldo anímico para competir como lo hemos hecho. Hemos tenido ocasiones y controlado al rival. En la segunda parte se han ido abriendo los espacios y hemos sufrido. El segundo gol nos ha hecho mucho daño, el equipo ha querido seguir compitiendo, pero con espacios se sentían cómodos. El equipo lo ha intentado, pero nos vamos con la pena de no haber sido capaces de sacar algo positivo. Igual el Wanda no es el mejor sitio para recuperar puntos perdidos".
¿Falta agresividad?
"Son situaciones que vienen por desajustes, por pequeños errores. Creo que sin querer señalar a nadie ni decir que ha sido por falta de contundencia. Son cosas mejorables, en el segundo gol ha sido más virtud del remate final con tan poco ángulo y el balón muy bien ajustado. También es virtud del rival".
Los problemas defensivos
"Es un poco de todo. Con experiencia se manejan mejor las situaciones. En el primer gol podríamos haber despejado antes de que Joao anticipe. Es mejorable. Todos los goles vienen por falta de contundencia, malas acciones o colocación. Son errores puntuables, pero en los goles del rival ha habido mucho mérito del rival".
¿Dosificar jugadores?
"Creo que no estamos en una situación para decir que nos centramos en una cosa u otra. Cada partido es un motivo para intentar mejorar y dar nuestra mejor versión. Con la frecuencia de partidos que hay, habrá que dosificar. No hacemos distinción entre unos y otros. A lo largo de la temporada hay cambios, depende de diferentes circunstancias. A la Copa vamos con toda la ilusión. Elegiremos once jugadores de inicio, para competir y dar nuestra mejor versión. No podemos desaprovechar ninguna ocasión, para dar nuestra mejor versión competir y mejorar".
