Valencia CF El club acerca posturas con el central portugués del Benfica.
El Valencia se ha movido ya pensando en el próximo mercado de fichajes y ha acercado posturas para reforzarse con el central de Benfica Francisco Reis Ferreira 'Ferro'. El club parece por fin decidido a reforzarse en el mercado de invierno -la duda razonable viene por lo sucedido en verano- y mantiene la prioridad de los objetivos acordados con Javi Gracia y no atendidos entonces. Un central y un mediocentro defensivo son los dos puestos que están marcados en rojo en una plantilla de la que se fueron seis jugadores (Garay, Ferran, Parejo, Coquelin, Rodrigo y Kondogbia) y que solo se reforzó con jugadores promocionados desde el filial o que habían regresado tras cesión. Precisamente, la salida el 3 de noviembre de Geoffrey Kondogbia es la que ha dado un respiro en el margen de fair play financiero que ahora permite plantearse dos refuerzos cedidos.
Ferro es un jugador portugués de 23 años formado en la cantera de Benfica y que ha sido internacional con su selección desde las categorías inferiores hasta la Sub21. Sin embargo, esta temporada -con Otamendi y Vertonghen en la plantilla- prácticamente apenas está participando con el primer equipo de Benfica (3 partidos, 107 minutos) de la mano del entrenador Jorge Jesús y es el propio futbolista el que ha pedido una salida en forma de cesión para poder disputar de minutos.
El técnico portugués no se opone de primeras a la salida del jugador. Pero quiere cubrirse las espaldas con un tercer central que pueda ser titular en caso de necesidad o contratiempo. Mientras esto sucede, el futbolista tendrá que esperar. Y eso es precisamente lo que no tiene el Valencia: tiempo. En realidad, con la incorporación se busca un futbolista que pueda rendir los cinco meses que quedan de competición. Pero también interesa que llegue lo antes posible teniendo en cuenta la baja de Paulista de unas cuatro semanas.
No es la de Ferro la única opción para el puesto de central en este momento. Sigue vigente la opción que también sonó para el verano de Rugani, aunque la cesión al Rennes complica un poco más la operación ya que la Juventus no quiere perder dinero en este cambio de club de destino.
