Uno de los nombres propios de la previa del partido del Sevilla frente al Villarreal es el de Fernando Reges. El brasileño es un jugador fundamental en el centro del campo del conjunto hispalense desde que aterrizase en Nervión en el verano del pasado año 2019. Esta temporada ya ha disputado 17 partidos, 15 de ellos saliendo de inicio. El centrocampista jugó la pasada campaña 42 encuentros con la camiseta del Sevilla; 34 de Liga, 7 de Europa League y uno de Copa del Rey. Marcó tres goles y dio tres asistencias.
Julen Lopetegui no es amigo de especular pensando en el futuro, pero en el caso de Fernando es inevitable preguntarse si el técnico vasco estará valorando o no la posibilidad de reservar al jugador por un par de motivos.
El primero, porque anda tocado tras sufrir un esguince de tobillo en el último partido de Liga en Mestalla. Aunque está entrenando, no se encuentra al cien por cien. El segundo, porque está apercibido de sanción para el choque ante el Villarreal y si ve una amarilla, se perderá el primer partido del 2021, que es nada menos que el Betis-Sevilla, el día 2 de enero, en el Benito Villamarín. Quizá Julen Lopetegui arroje algo de luz en su comparecencia de este lunes en la habitual rueda de prensa previa a una cita liguera.
Además, Fernando no es el único apercibido. Su recambio natural en el césped, Nemanja Gudelj, también está a una amarilla de cumplir sanción. Dos pivotes que pueden perderse el derbi hispalense, un duelo siempre diferente aunque los puntos en juego sean los mismos.
