Sigurdsson en los minutos finales aupó al Everton a la segunda posición de la
Premier League y dejó un poco más hundido si cabe al Sheffield United (1-0),
que después de ser una de las revelaciones la temporada pasada suma solo dos
puntos en las primeras 15 jornadas
El conjunto dirigido por
Carlo Ancelotti se plantó en el condado de York con bajas importantísimas, como
las de Lucas Digne, Allan, James Rodríguez o Richarlison. Una situación que
obligó Carletto a improvisar una defensa con cuatro centrales y a incluir al
jovencísimo Anthony Gordon como titular en el extremo izquierdo ‘toffee’.
Enfrente estaba el
Sheffield United, tercer equipo en los más de 100 años de la máxima categoría
del fútbol inglés que llegaba al Boxing Day sin conocer la victoria. Un hito
por lo negativo que antes solo habían ‘logrado’ Burnley y Bolton.
Ante tal panorama, todas
las apuestas eran favorables al cuadro de Liverpool, pero los locales volvieron
a demostrar que merecen algún punto más de los dos que ostentan actualmente.
Calvert-Lewin, el más
peligroso
Aún así, las ocasiones
más claras fueron para el Everton, que contó una vez más con Dominic
Calvert-Lewin como principal referencia ofensiva. A punto estuvo el delantero
inglés de hacer uno de los goles de la jornada al controlar con el pecho un
balón que cayó del cielo de Sheffield con nieve y sacarse un derechazo sin
dejar botar el esférico que se marchó ligeramente desviado.

dar más chispa a los suyos dando entrada Bernard y Coleman, devolviendo a

para que Sigurdsson batiera a Aaron Ramsdale con un sutil toque.
