Las navidades han traído un
regalo envenenado al Manchester City. El club inglés ha confirmado este viernes
los positivos por coronavirus de Gabriel Jesús y Kyle Walker, a lo que se suman
otros dos por parte de dos empleados ‘citizen’.
Los test semanales del equipo
inglés han traído malas noticias a Pep Guardiola, que perderá a dos futbolistas
de cara al Boxing Day que les enfrenta este sábado al Newcastle (21.00 horas).
Según ha informado el City,
los cuatro infectados se mantendrán en aislamiento siguiendo el protocolo de la
Premier y del Gobierno británico. “Todo el mundo en el club desea lo mejor a
nuestros compañeros, así como una rápida recuperación durante el periodo navideño
antes de que puedan volver a trabajar, entrenar y jugar”, añadió el City en un
comunicado.
La Premier realiza actualmente
un test semanal a los jugadores y trabajadores de los equipos, aunque planea
aumentarlo a dos por semana, como hacía durante los primeros meses tras la
pandemia, en aquella zonas ubicadas en el nivel 4 de contagios. Manchester se
encuentra actualmente en el nivel 3 y sin planes para aumentar de categoría.
Dicho nivel de infección
impide a los seguidores apoyar a su equipo en los estadios de fútbol, por lo
que el City jugará a puerta cerrada el duelo ante las ‘urracas’.
