El encuentro empezó con
noticia. El entrenador noruego sentó por primera vez en la liga a De Gea y le
dio la opción a Henderson en Bramall Lane. En su antiguo estadio, en el lugar
en el que empezó a despuntar. No le pudo ir peor al inglés, que cometió una
torpeza que le costó el 1-0 al United. Se entretuvo tanto con el cuero entre

Lindelöf vio a Rashford al espacio y el inglés no perdonó ante Ramsdale, incapaz
de detener un remate duro. Se columpió de entrada pero una asistencia
milimétrica de Pogba a Martial le sirvió al United para irse tranquilo al
descanso. Otra remontada. Tras un rechace de Ramsdale, el 9 barrió a la red:

Queda poco del Sheffield que
sorprendió el año pasado. El equipo se ha venido abajo. Y el United sacó
provecho de la crisis ajena para anestesiar el partido. Pogba, portentoso,
imaginó una jugada brillante y contó con la colaboración de sus mejores socios:
Bruno Fernandes, Greenwood, Martial y finalmente Rashford, que batió a un
Ramsdale desafortunado. La sombra de Henderson parece alargada. No se suple con
cualquiera a un guardameta que dio tanto al cuadro de Wilder.
Un Sheffield que ha perdido el
aura y se ha desmoronado. Es el peor equipo a estas alturas desde que se creó
la Premier. Y el United gestionó el tramo final, con descanso para Greenwood y
Bruno Fernandes, pero su rival no se rindió. McGoldrick anotó el 2-3 con
fortuna en un cabezazo tras un saque de esquina que no fue. Henderson evitó el
empate, buena manera de redimirse de su error para confirmar un triunfo
importante que eleva las aspiraciones de Solskjaer.
