Real Madrid Ningún portero en los últimos años tardó tanto en jugar.
Andriy Lunin firmó por el Real Madrid hace dos años y medio. Llegó tras la salida de Zidane, dispuesto a hacerse un hueco en una de las porterías más exigentes del mundo. El club blanco pagó 8,5 millones más cuatro en variables. Se buscaba un guardameta joven llamado a ser el segundo e incluso el titular con el paso del tiempo. Esa operación fue previa a la pela Courtois-Alisson que se decantó por el belga. Lunin tenía 19 años.
Ahora, a las puertas de los 22, todavía no ha debutado de manera oficial con el equipo blanco. Sus cesiones no fueron exitosas. Primero fue a Leganés en la 18-19, donde no desbancó a Pichu Cuéllar (acabó con siete encuentros). Al curso siguiente, no se le vio listo para ser el segundo de Courtois tras la marcha de Keylor y el club se protegió con Areola, un guardameta con experiencia al primer nivel (Villarreal y PSG).
Con Lunin no se quiso repetir el error de cederle a un equipo donde no jugara, además ya como campeón del mundo sub 20. Se apostó por el Valladolid... y sucedió lo mismo. Apenas dos encuentros en la primera mitad de la temporada, a la sombra de Masip. Así que en enero se le buscó otro destino y cambió la meseta por Oviedo y la Primera por la Segunda división. Por fin jugó con asiduidad, los últimos 20 encuentros de manera consecutiva.
Así que este verano por fin se estableció en Madrid, el 13 a la espalda, aspirando a que Zidane le fuera dando partidos puntualmente, como ya hizo el galo con otros porteros durante etapas previas, ese modo de tener enchufado al guardameta suplente. Kiko Casilla, Keylor Navas y e incluso Areola jugaron cada cierto tiempo. Empezando por este último, Areola llegó con cinco partidos jugados a estas fechas, más allá de que luego disputó la Copa. Keylor, cuyo cartel no era comparable, jugó las tres primeras jornadas de Champions tras la llegada de Courtois. Kiko Casilla aprovechó lesiones de Navas para jugar en el primer tramo del curso en las dos temporadas en las que Zidane inició la temporada (16-17 y 17-18). El francés también le rotó en la segunda mitad de la 15-16.
Por tanto, en los últimos años, nunca el segundo portero tardó tanto en estrenar los guantes de manera oficial en la temporada, una norma que Zidane ha cambiado ahora. El calendario no ha dado respiro al Madrid y Zizou no ha querido mover a Courtois, cuyo momento de forma es óptimo, aunque hace dos semanas se temió por una lesión de Thibaut. Afortunadamente, todo se quedó en un susto. Por si acaso, Lunin se entrena, juega cuando le ponen con la selección ucraniana y aguarda una oportunidad... que va con mucho retraso. Se le estará haciendo eterna.
