la iniciativa en el juego pero los de David Moyes estuvieron más acertados de
cara a portería
El balón y la iniciativa en el
juego fue cosa del Leeds de Marcelo Bielsa. La electricidad y predisposición a
crear peligro con muy poco, del West Ham de David Moyes. Con dichos
ingredientes, por momentos pareció que de la coctelera de Elland Road saldría
un empate, pero el balón parado inclinó la balanza a favor de los ‘hammers’
(1-2) en el encuentro que abrió la 12ª jornada de la Premier League.
El primero en golpear fue el
Leeds. Ni cinco minutos de juego habían transcurrido cuando Liam Cooper
habilitó a Bamford en un mano a mano ante Fabianski y el guardameta del West
Ham no pudo hacer más que cometer penalti para evitar en primera instancia el
tanto. Lo hizo también en un primer lanzamiento de Klich, pero el VAR le chivó
al árbitro que el guardameta no estaba pisando la línea. Así que se repitió y
esta segunda vez Klich sí engañó a Fabianski para que el 1-0 subiese al
marcador.
Ya con ventaja en el mismo el
Leeds de Bielsa pasó a sentirse todavía más cómodo que en el tramo inicial y se
adueñó del cuero. Pero el West Ham ni mucho menos le perdió la cara al duelo,
agazapado a la espera de su oportunidad, y no desaprovechó la que tuvo en el
25’, con Soucek cabeceando a la red un servicio de Bowen desde la esquina. Pudo
hacer algo más para evitarlo Meslier, pero en esta ocasión el joven guardameta
francés no estuvo nada fino.
Se llegó con ese 1-1 al
descanso y el segundo acto aconteció como un partido de ida y vuelta en el que
al Leeds le faltaba lucidez de tres cuartos en adelante y con Benrahma como el
encargado de mantener viva la ilusión del West Ham respecto a llevarse los tres
puntos. Pero finalmente no fue el argelino sino Ogbonna, de nuevo en una jugada
a balón parado, el que hizo el definitivo 1-2 en el 80’.
Ya en el añadido, Rodrigo
Moreno dispuso de un cabezazo en boca de gol para lograr el empate, pero
Fabianski frustró sus intenciones logrando que los tres puntos volasen rumbo a
Londres con un West Ham que durmió este viernes en puestos de competiciones
europeas.
