Impoluta ha sido la
participación del Arsenal de Mikel Arteta en la fase de grupos de la Europa
League. El cuadro ‘gunner’ visitó este jueves al Dundalk irlandés en la sexta y
última jornada de la misma, sabiendo de antemano que tenía asegurado no solo el
billete para los dieciseisavos de final sino también el hecho de acceder a
dicha ronda como campeón de grupo. Pero lejos de dejarse llevar, se impuso por
2-4 para completar su particular pleno (seis de seis) de triunfos.
Consciente de su superioridad
sobre el papel ante un equipo que ya no se jugaba nada más que el honor, Arteta
planteó el duelo con los menos habituales en el ‘once’, y varios de ellos
aprovecharon la ocasión para reivindicarse.
Facilitó el triunfo del
Arsenal el hecho de que sin llegar al 20’ de juego ya venciesen los de Arteta
por 0-2 con goles de Nketiah y Elneny (de bellísima factura el del egipcio,
pero al descanso se llegó con 1-2 después de que Jordan Flores redujese
distancias.
Ya en el segundo acto,
llegaron dos nuevos tantos del Arsenal, de Willock y Balogun para finiquitar el
triunfo ‘gunner’, y el Dundalk no pudo hacer más que maquillar el resultado con
el 2-4.
El Arsenal será cabeza de
serie en el sorteo del próximo lunes en el que muchos esperan evitar a los de
Mikel Arteta, dubitativos en la Premier League, pero intratables en Europa.
