Mayoral, que inició la remontada
La Roma, ya con el pase a 1/16
de final de la Europa League asegurado desde la semana pasada, garantizó hoy el
primer lugar del grupo A a una jornada del final tras remontar al Young Boys en
el estadio Olímpico (3-1). Borja Mayoral lideró la reacción con su gol antes
del descanso en un partido de marcado acento español.
Paulo Fonseca, en vistas del
partido del domingo ante el Sassuolo en la Serie A, introdujo cambios en la
alineación y apostó por poner en liza a los cinco españoles que tiene en su
plantilla con Paul López en la portería, Gonzalo Villar en la media, Carles
Pérez y Pedro Rodríguez en la mediapunta y Borja Mayoral en punta.
Gran entendimiento entre

El tridente ofensivo mostró un
óptimo entendimiento en una Roma que impuso un ritmo veloz y preciso a su juego
desde el primer minuto, aunque le faltó acierto en el remate al principio para
culminar sus claras ocasiones.
Carles Pérez dispuso la
primera en el minuto 14 tras controlar con calidad un gran pase en largo de
Pedro, pero cruzó en exceso con el exterior ante David von Ballmoos. El meta
suizo frustró poco después al propio Pedro, pero el Young Boys logró adelantarse
en el marcador por sorpresa en su primera y prácticamente única llegada en todo
el partido.
El camerunés Jean-Pierre Nsamé
se escapó en un balón largo, recortó a Bryan Cristante, que demostró en esta
acción no ser un central natural pese a recurrir Paulo Fonseca a él como
recurso, y puso el balón entre las piernas de Pau López (34’).
Conexión hispana en el 1-1
Justo antes del descanso la
Roma por fin encontró puerta en otra conexión de su tridente español. Carles
Pérez protagonizó una gran internada entre la defensa que culminó dejando solo
a Pedro, cuyo disparo repelió Von Ballmoos, pero Borja Mayoral, oportuno en el
rechace, metió la cabeza para marcar.
Es el tercer gol en la Europa
League del delantero cedido por el Real Madrid y cuarto en su primera temporada
en la Roma. No solo marcó sino que demostró su inteligencia retrasando su
posición para combinar con sus compañeros.
Golazo del canterano Calafiori
y puntilla de Dzeko
En la segunda parte el
jovencísimo canterano Riccardo Calafiori logró a sus 18 años su primer tanto
con la camiseta de la Roma. Y lo hizo con un soberbio zurdazo desde fuera del
área tras un rechace defensivo que se coló por la escuadra (59’). Todo un
golazo.
Paulo Fonseca, que en el
descanso ya había dejado en la caseta a Pedro, retiró tras el 2-1 a Mayoral y
Villar. La Roma bajó el ritmo y sin forzar la máquina sentenció en el 81’ por medio
de Edin Dzeko, que había entrado por Mayoral, al colocar con calidad una volea
tras un rechace defensivo.
El Young Boys arrojó la toalla
definitivamente al ver la cartulina roja su central guineano Mohamed Aly Camara
por dar un codazo en el minuto 82 a Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Los suizos, segundos de
grupo con 7 puntos, necesitan empatar en casa en la última jornada ante el
Cluj, que suma 5 tras empatar hoy como local contra el CSKA Sofía (0-0).
