El Atalanta pinchó por quinta
vez en sus últimos seis partidos al caer 0-2 ante el Verona y mantiene su línea
descendente en la Liga italiana, en la que este sábado perdió la oportunidad de
reengancharse a la lucha por jugar la próxima temporada en Europa.
Después de la prestigiosa
victoria que consiguió esta semana en Anfield frente al Liverpool (0-2), el
Atalanta volvió a darse de bruces con la realidad en la competición de la
regularidad. El Verona, que acabó el sábado en la sexta plaza a falta del resto
de partidos, volvió a hurgar en la herida de su rival.
Y es que en los últimos
encuentros acumula sólo una victoria, la que logró ante el Crotone (1-2) el
pasado 27 de octubre. Antes, perdió 4-1 con el Nápoles y 1-3 frente al
Sampdoria y después acumuló dos empates (1-1 con el Inter y 0-0 ante el
Spezia).
El choque frente al Verona
podría haber servido a los hombres dirigidos por Gian Piero Gasperini para
alargar la felicidad de la victoria en Liverpool, pero el técnico italiano sólo
pudo ver desde el banquillo cómo sus hombres firmaron un partido gris.
En la primera parte, apenas
contaron con dos tímidas ocasiones del argentino "Papu" Gómez y del
esloveno Josip Ilicic, mientras que en la segunda, el colombiano Duván Zapata
pudo marcar con un cabezazo que detuvo el portero.
El Verona, sin embargo,
aprovechó muy bien sus opciones y a los sesenta minutos, un par después de una
ocasión de Samuel Di Carmine, se adelantó desde el punto de penalti gracias al
acierto de Miguel Veloso.
El Atalanta, con media hora
por delante para rescatar un punto, se vio sorprendido por un contragolpe y
