No hay contratiempo que
pueda frenar a este Liverpool. Ni lesiones ni contagios por Covid-19 ni un
equipo siempre peligroso como el Leicester. Nada. Hasta seis titulares le
faltaron a Klopp que, después de un partido muy serio, se coloca líder de la
Premier junto al Tottenham de Mourinho tras ganar con goles de Evans (p.p),
Jota y Firmino.
Velocidad 'Made in
Premier' en la primera parte
El partido que cerraba la
jornada dominical en la Primer League era de cinco tenedores. En parte porque
en Inglaterra, salvo en contadas excepciones, el fútbol va a otra velocidad. Todos
los jugadores son ‘superdeportivos’ encerrados en un circuito de césped y eso
se nota desde el primer minuto.
Por ello, el Liverpool,
poco amigo de las especulaciones, se lanzó a presionar al Leicester nada más
comenzar con la intención de hacerle caer en el error. Pura electricidad los de
Klopp en un Anfield apagado pero con el espíritu de la vida de antes. Probaron
a Schmeichel en un par de ocasiones pero, cosas del fútbol, quien batió al
danés fue su propio compañero Jonny Evans. El zaguero, en un intento de despeje
que tan solo él debió entender como tal, se introdujo el balón en su portería
tras un saque de esquina (1-0). Hasta entonces, los visitantes se habían
acercado tímidamente sobre la meta de Alisson pero sin la mordiente de otros
días.
Y es que al Leicester le
costó mucho superar la presión de los de Klopp. Apenas pudieron encontrar a
Vardy, condenado a hacer kilómetros sin balón, y se limitaban a cumplir atrás
cuando los ‘reds’ olían sangre. Y la olieron otra vez antes del descanso. Otra vez
Jota. El portugués, de dulce desde que firmó con el Liverpool, remató un centro
confeccionado a medida por Robertson para hacer el 2-0 y mandar el partido
prácticamente al bolsillo.
Firmino se salió con la
suya
Pasados por vestuarios,
el Leicester hizo un amago de desperezarse. Pero fue solo eso, un amago. No le
quitó intensidad a su juego pero siguió sin aportarle ideas. Sí lo hizo el
Liverpool en la figura de su jugador más talentoso, Firmino, que buscó su gol y
se quedó con las ganas hasta en tres ocasiones.
La más clara de todas
ellas, la última, que tuvo dos palos y un despeje de Fuchs sobre la línea que
no entró porque, a veces, los milagros existen. Al brasileño solo le quedó con
desahogarse una sonrisa de incredulidad. La misma sonrisa que más tarde se
convirtió en una de alivio tras conseguir por fin su gol a servicio de Milner
desde el córner.
Más allá de eso, que no
fue poco, el Liverpool se escudó en el paso de los minutos y al Leicester, que
se le escapaban del cronómetro, no le quedó más remedio que reconocer que no
fue su noche. Se alzan así hasta el liderato los de Klopp y dejan a los ‘foxes’
con las ganas pero con un meritorio cuarto puesto.
