primer triunfo en la liguilla clasificatoria para el Mundial 2022 gracias a un
tanto de Rondón al final
Venezuela se impuso este
martes por 2-1 a Chile en la cuarta jornada de la liguilla sudamericana de
clasificación para el Mundial de Qatar 2022, gracias a los goles del defensa
Luis Mago y de su goleador histórico, Salomón Rondón. La vinotinto domó a su
bestia, la selección que siempre le robaba los puntos en casa.
Venezuela rompe con la
historia
Antes de esta noche,
Chile se impuso en 11 de las 14 presentaciones por eliminatorias en las que
enfrentó a Venezuela. Como locales, los venezolanos no habían podido ganar en 7
duelos, con 6 derrotas.
Venezuela inició el
partido con el ímpetu que no había mostrado en los primeros 270 minutos de las
eliminatorias y presionó al rival por las bandas con las llegadas de Machís y
Savarino, muy enchufado en los primeros minutos.

Y de tanto buscarlo en el
arranque, los venezolanos encontraron el gol a los 9 minutos, después de
ejecutar con éxito una regla no escrita del fútbol: dos cabezazos dentro del
área siempre llevan a la meta.
Ocurrió cuando Machís
tiró un libre directo que fue al palo lejano de Claudio Bravo y Yangel Herrera
devolvió al centro del área chica, donde llegó sin marca el lateral Luis Mago.
La diana dio incluso
nuevas fuerzas a los locales, que continuaron buscando el arco rival con las
internadas de Machís y Savarino.
Vidal aprovecha un
descuido local
Pero, en un descuido de
toda la zaga local, Chile emparejó las acciones con un gol del siempre presente
Arturo Vidal a los 15 minutos, después de una serie de toques que llevaron la
bola desde el costado derecho hasta el corazón del área vinotinto.
Fue entonces cuando Chile
se apoderó del esférico y Venezuela esperaba en su cancha esperando
contraatacar con rapidez.
Así tuvo dos claras
opciones en las que Machís no encontró el arco. Primero en la fracción 19,
cuando encontró un pase largo que y dudó entre pasar o tirar al arco, lo que
dejó tiempo para que Bravo achicara.
Y después a los 30
minutos, cuando remató con fuerza desde fuera del área y Bravo contuvo sin
problemas.
Rondón decide
En el complemento, Chile
continuó presionando el arco rival, aunque sin peligro real, hasta que a los 83
minutos el ingresado Soteldo centró hasta donde llegaba Rondón con fuerza para
desnivelar la pizarra.
El resultado les permite
a los venezolanos no descolgarse de la lucha por los cupos al mundial y
reponerse de 3 derrotas consecutivas, en las que la Vinotinto no mostró su
mejor
