expresar interés en Tariq Lamptey, un futbolista que esta temporada está
causando sensación en la Premier League.
Pero el club del jugador
no tiene en mente dejar escapar una perla como la que tiene entre manos. Graham
Potter, técnico de Brighton, el equipo del joven lateral, sigue impresionado
con Lamptey después de que su joven cargo anotase su primer gol, antes del
presente parón.
No ha pasado
desapercibido, una leyenda como Wayne Rooney señaló recientemente a Lamptey
como un jugador que debería fichar el Manchester United, mientras que se dice
que Bayern Múnich, Sevilla o ahora Atlético de Madrid también están interesados
en él.
Lamptey se unió a los
‘Seagulls’ por sólo por cerca de cuatro millones procedente del Chelsea en
enero pasado y su contrato actual se extiende hasta junio de 2023. “Estamos
encantados con Tariq”, dijo Potter cuando se le preguntó si el club estaba
preparando un nuevo contrato para Lamptey ante tentaciones como la del
Atlético. “Es genial ver a un jugador joven como él entrar y aprovechar la
oportunidad. Encaja muy bien con nuestro club y nuestro equipo. Hay muchos
jugadores jóvenes que comienzan en la Premier League y es importante tener
modelos a seguir como él.
“Tenemos un entorno para
que alguien como él venga y disfrute de su fútbol. Eso es lo que queremos para
Tariq y todo lo demás se soluciona solo. Lo más importante es que creamos un
entorno del que él quiere ser parte y que disfruta de su fútbol. Entonces su
calidad se mostrará”, señaló.
