cae en casa ante unos ‘villanos’ que asoman en Europa
La lluvia que cayó en
Londres terminó por fundir los plomos del Arsenal. El equipo de Mikel Arteta se
estrelló contra un Aston Villa que demostró que es un equipo peligrosísimo,
lejos de la versión que se salvó sobre la bocina el curso pasado.
La noche no podía empezar
peor para el equipo ‘gunner’. Antes de cumplirse el primer minuto de juego,
Mcginn ya había adelantado al Villa con un soberbio gol, sin embargo el VAR
anuló el tanto por un fuera de juego posicional de Barkley, que tapó la visión
de Leno.
El que sí valió fue el
que se marcó en propia meta Saka al intentar evitar un remate de Trezeguet en
una gran jugada coral de los ‘villanos’.
El Arsenal trató de
reaccionar y puso cerco en la meta del Villa. Lo cierto es que el equipo
‘gunner’ generó ocasiones de sobra para empatar, pero la falta de puntería y
las paradas de Emiliano Martínez, expupilo de Arteta, iban frustrando al equipo
londinense.
Arteta recurrió a
Ceballos en la segunda mitad, pero ni así pudo encontrar el camino del gol el
Arsenal, que se estrelló una y otra vez contra la defensa del Aston Villa.
Los ‘villanos’ se iban
salvando de encajar un gol y llegaban con mucho peligro al contragolpe.
Grealish avisó, pero Leno conseguía mantener al Arsenal con vida.
Frustrados, los ‘gunners’
vieron como todo terminaba cuando Watkins (72’) aprovechaba una jugada de
tiralíneas para hacer subir el 0-2. El Arsenal bajó los brazos y el Villa
remató el partido con otro tanto del inglés (75’).
Tras esta derrota, el
Arsenal queda tocado en la Premier. Tras 8 jornadas, el equipo de Arteta sólo
ha sumado 6 de los últimos 15 puntos y se sitúa en la zona media de la
clasificación con 12 puntos.
Mientras, el Villa se
rehace tras dos derrotas consecutivas y vuelve a asomar a los puestos de
cabeza.
