dio el triunfo al equipo de Jürgen Klopp en el arranque de la liguilla de
Champions
El Liverpool superó este
miércoles en Amsterdam su primera prueba tras la grave lesión de Virgil van
Dijk y logró el triunfo ante el Ajax en el arranque de la liguilla de Champions
(0-1). Diez Champions ganadas suman entre ambos (6 el Liverpool, 4 el Ajax)
pero nunca se habían enfrentado en esta competición. Al final, con Fabinho
ocupando la plaza de Van Dijk en el eje de la defensa, decidió el partido un
autogol de Nicolás Tagliafico.
Erik ten Hag, entrenador
del Ajax, planteó muy bien el encuentro, y de inicio el Liverpool no se sintió
cómodo sobre el terreno de juego. A los ‘reds’ les costaba practicar ese fútbol
de correr que suele caracterizarles. En el once, la gran novedad fue el joven
Curtis Jones en la media. Tras el descanso, le relevó el capitán, Jordan
Henderson.
Trent Alexander-Arnold
subió mucho menos al ataque de lo que suele y sí lo hizo Andy Robertson. En la
media, fue enorme el trabajo de James Milner para contener el juego de un Ajax
que luchó por remontar el partido.
El Liverpool se avanzó
gracias a un autogol de Nicolás Tagliafico, uno de los supervivientes del Ajax
semifinalista de la Champions en 2018-19. Sadio Mané llevó a cabo una magnífica
jugada, pero fue el internacional argentino el que finalmente introdujo el
balón en en su propia portería. Era el minuto 35 y a la postre el tanto decidió
el encuentro.
Dusan Tadic estuvo a
punto de lograr el empate, pero lo evitó, in extremis, Fabinho, providencial en
su papel de cubrir la baja de un jugador insustituible como Van Dijk, que se
perderá probablemente toda la temporada por una grave lesión de rodilla tras la
entrada de Jordan Pickford el pasado sábado en el derbi contra el Everton.
El equipo ‘red’ tuvo ocasiones para aumentar esa ventaja en el Johan Cruyff Arena, como la de Diogo Jota en la segunda parte, pero pasaron los minutos sin que lo consiguiera y por lo tanto el partido permanecía abierto, con un Ajax en busca cuanto menos del empate, deseando empezar bien en la liguilla en su regreso a la misma.Incluso recurrió a los balones altos, en un estilo que no es el suyo.
