Un autogol de Phillips marcó la
diferencia de un encuentro igualado y que los de Bielsa no merecieron perder
Ni las derrotas están
desmereciendo el regreso del Leeds a la Premier League. El conjunto de Marcelo
Bielsa cayó de forma desafortunada ante un Wolverhampton al que igualó en
intensidad y superó en juego hasta que Phillips se marcó un autogol (0-1).
En especial fue buena la primera
parte del Leeds. Más por sensaciones que por llegadas concretas. Llevó el peso
del partido, movió bien el balón y ahogó al conjunto de Nuno con una buena
presión tras pérdida que impedía que estos echaran a correr.
Sin Adama Traoré sobre el césped,
suplente, la velocidad vertiginosa de los Wolves era menor, pero no quería
correr riesgos Bielsa, muy concreto en su enfoque de partido, como de
costumbre.
Aun con esas, la capacidad de
pegada de unos y otros ya es otra historia. Las llegadas al área del Leeds
morían pronto y Rodrigo no era eficaz en el remate. Tampoco Podence antes del
descanso, con un Meslier acertado en su parada.
Cambió un poco la dinámica tras
el descanso. El Wolves entró en el partido, Moutinho tomó el timón del juego y
el Leeds jugó más en campo propio que en el primer tiempo. De hecho, Saïss
avanzó al Wolverhampton con un zurdazo inapelable, pero el VAR lo anuló por fuera de juego.
Nuno movió ficha y metió a Adama,
algo que necesitaba el equipo para cambiar de marchas en el último tercio de
campo. Fue entrar y adelantarse el equipo. No por mérito del español, sino por
mala fortuna del Leeds. Raúl Jiménez hizo una gran jugada personal, recortó en
la frontal y su débil tiro lo prolongó con un cabezazo Phillips que engañó a
Meslier y terminó encontrando el fondo de la portería (70’).
El Leeds, con más fe que gasolina
en sus piernas, trató de buscar el empate, incluso dando entrada a Pablo
Hernández, pero eso no funcionó. Un par de buenos balones al área no evitaron a
la atenta defensa de los Wolves, que evitó cualquier posibilidad de remate de
un rival que puso el juego, pero al que le faltaron los goles.
