Volvió a ser decisivo Erling Haaland y esta vez, incluso, saliendo desde el banquillo. Lucien Favre optó por dar algo de descanso a su estrella tras un largo parón de selecciones, pero tuvo que tirar del crack en la segunda mitad para que le resolviera la papeleta en un partido que se le había puesto complicado a los suyos ante el Hoffenheim a domicilio. Fue entrar el noruego y asistir a Reus para que el capitán anotara el único tanto del choque y colocara a las abejas en la segunda posición de la tabla, a falta de lo que haga el Frankfurt y Bayern.
El Dortmund, con el ex madridista Meunier y Reyna en el once, fue el equipo que llevó el peso del choque en el PreZero Arena, pero las aproximaciones más peligrosas las protagonizaron los locales. A los cuatro minutos de partido, el meta visitante Hitz tuvo suerte que un envío del gran Gacinovic se marchó alto. Reyna y el propio Meunier, cuyo cabezazo se estrelló en el larguero, también pudieron adelantar a un conjunto borusser que, eso sí, echó en falta la efectividad en los últimos metros.
La cosa no cambió en el segundo período, lo que obligó a Favre a echar toda la carne en el asador. El técnico suizo mandó a calentar a Haaland y le dio entrada a falta de 25 minutos para el final. Se notó. Fue, entonces, cuando el Dortmund comenzó a embotellar al conjunto dirigido por Sebastian Hoeness, llegó con mucha más claridad y, finalmente, marcó el tanto que le dio la tercera victoria del curso: Haaland encaró al meta Baumann y, en vez de ejecutar él mismo, se la puso en bandeja a Reus para que el capitán la achuchara a placer.
El Borussia Mönchengladbach, rival del Real Madrid en la Liga de Campeones, empató este sábado en casa 1-1 ante el Wolfsburgo y perdió terreno respecto al líder Leipzig y sus perseguidores, el Bayern Múnich y el Borussia Dortmund, que ganaron sus partidos.
El Gladbach se puso con ventaja con un penalti convertido por Jonas Hoffmann en el minuto 78 y el Wolfsburgo empató en el 85 con un gol de Wout Weghorst.
El partido tuvo dos caras. En la primera parte, aunque el Wolfsburgo tuvo más la pelota, el Gladbach tuvo más llegada y más disparos a puerta.
En el minuto 11, Patrick Thuram tuvo una buena ocasión con un remate contra el exterior de la red y en el 21 un cabezazo de Florian Neuhaus se estrelló contra un poste. En el 33, un remate de Hoffmann pasó cerca de un palo.
La segunda parte, en cambio, empezó con una ocasión del Wolfsburgo, un disparo de Brekalo que el meta Yann Sommer tuvo que contarrestar con los puños.
Después, una fase en que el Wolfsburgo era el único equipo que llegaba a puerta hasta que un pase largo al área de Florian Neuhaus, que fue interceptado a medias por la defensa del Wolfsburgo, terminó generando el penalti a favor del Gladbach que ejecutó Hoffmann.
El Gladbach había intentado con algunos cambios tener más poder ofensivo. Patrick Hermann había entrado por Embolo y Hannes Wolf por Lars Stindl, pero fue un balonazo al área lo que terminó dándole la ventaja.
No obstante, el Wolfsburgo -que había sido el mejor equipo en la segunda parte- logró volver al partido y Weghorst marcó el empate con en el minuto 85.
El Gladbach es ahora décimo, con cinco puntos menos que el Leipzig y cuatro menos que el Bayern y el Dortmund. Su única victoria en las cuatro jornadas disputadas ha sido en el derby renano contra el Colonia.
