La Premier League se
reanuda este fin de semana tras los partidos de selecciones. La quinta jornada
del campeonato inglés se inicia el sábado con todo un derbi de Merseyside en
Goodison Park entre Everton, sorprendente líder tras su pleno de 12 puntos, y
el campeón Liverpool, que antes del parón fue humillado por el Aston Villa
(7-2).
Jürgen Klopp, técnico de
los ‘reds’ recupera a Thiago Alcántara y Sadio Mané, que volvieron el martes a
los entrenamientos tras superar el Covid-19. Xherdan Shaqiri dio positivo con
la selección suiza el 6 de octubre pero apenas dos días después el test arrojó
resultado negativo y el 10 ya jugó unos minutos contra España.
La plaga de positivos en
el Liverpool también ha afectado a Naby Keita, que se infectó el martes con la
selección de Guinea y se encuentra en cuarentena. Es la única baja que tiene
Klopp relacionada con el Covid-19 tras poner el grito en el cielo antes del
parón acerca del riesgo de contagio que entrañaban los partidos de selecciones.

empates ante el Everton
Klopp cumplió el pasado 8
de octubre un lustro en el banquillo del Liverpool. En esos cinco años se ha enfrentado
once veces al Everton y no conoce la derrota en el derbi con un saldo de 7
victorias y 4 empates. Dos de esos triunfos fueron en la FA Cup, ambos en
Anfield.
Solo uno de esos 7
partidos ganados fue en Goodison Park, estadio que aguarda mañana el Liverpool.
Klopp solo ganó al Everton el primer derbi que afrontó a domicilio. Fue en
diciembre de 2016 por 0-1, en partido de la Premier League, gracias a un
solitario gol de Sadio Mané. Las tres visitas siguientes de los ‘reds’ a su
eterno rival se saldaron con 0-0.

Liverpool le espera un Everton que ha ganados sus cuatro partidos ligueros a
Tottenham (0-1), West Brom (5-2), Crystal Palace (1-2) y Brighton (4-2) gracias
a los seis goles de Dominic Calvert-Lewin y a la dirección de James Rodríguez,
resurgido de la mano de Carlo Ancelotti tras llegar este verano procedente del
Real Madrid. El colombiano lleva tres tantos y dos asistencias en la Premier.

más como persona y como entrenador. Honestamente es un ser humano maravilloso.
Desde el primer día que oí que iba a fichar por el Everton, pensé, ‘Ah, el
próximo retador adecuado’.
Klopp también elogia los
últimos fichajes del Everton, con James, Allan y Abdoulaye Doucouré los medios
a la cabeza. “Ahora creo que hicieron un negocio perfecto en el verano.
Encontraron casi exactamente a los jugadores que necesitaban para mejorar un
equipo que ya era bastante bueno. Juntos, cuando esten más acostumbrados a lo
que Carlo quiere que hagan, les convierte en un equipo bastante fuerte.
