una Gales sin Bale en su estreno con la selección.
Coady e Ings lograron también sus primeros tantos
con Inglaterra.
La Inglaterra ‘B’, con suplentes en Wembley ante una
Gales sin Gareth Bale, goleó este jueves a la selección que dirige Ryan Giggs
(3-0). Dominic Calvert-Lewin debutó con el equipo nacional inglés encarrilando
el partido amistoso gracias a un gol de cabeza y prolongó así la racha que está
protagonizando con el Everton, ya que lleva en la presente Premier 6 goles que
le convierten en el ‘pichichi’ (9 en 6 partidos en todas las competiciones),
empatado con Son Heung-min (Tottenham).
Lo cierto es que Gales tuvo la posesión del balón en
la primera parte de este ensayo de gran rivalidad en Wembley y creó varias
oportunidades. Pero fue Calvert-Lewin el que abrió el marcador gracias a un
remate de cabeza tras una gran asistencia de Jack Grealish en el minuto 26. Ni los
de Giggs lograron nivelar el marcador ni los de Southgate (en cuyas filas se
estrenaba también el extremo del Arsenal Bukayo Saka) aumentar su ventaja.
Inglaterra selló su victoria en la segunda parte.
Conor Coady (Wolves) logró en el 53’ un gran gol, tras aparecer libre en el
segundo palo y aprovechar el balón del defensa del Atlético, y capitán de los
‘pross’ ante Gales, Kieran Trippier tras una falta.
El tercero fue también un gran tanto, de Danny Ings,
que marcó de chilena en el 63’ tras un gran pase de Tyrone Mings. También son
los primeros tantos con Inglaterra de Coady e Ings. Sin titulares, los
jugadores a los que alineó Southgate aprovecharon su ocasión, mientras bajo
palos Nick Pope no se dejó sorprender por los de Giggs.
Inglaterra pudo haber marcado algún gol más, como en
la ocasión de James Ward-Prowse ya en tiempo de descuento, pero Wayne
Hennessey, portero de Gales, lo impidió.
