El flamante fichaje del Manchester United se sinceró tras concretarse su firma con los red devils
Edinson Cavani concedió su primera entrevista nada más concretarse su fichaje por el Manchester United. Durante su charla con el programa radiofónico “Dos de punta”, el delantero uruguayo reconoció que lo había pasado mal las últimas semanas porque había estado contagiado por el coronavirus, como su pareja, un tiempo en el que llegó a plantearse dejar la práctica del fútbol.
Sobre cómo vivió los meses en los que no tenía equipo, Cavani comentó: “Es normal que empiece a entrar la ansiedad. Las ligas habían empezado a competir y claro, quería tener un equipo. Hay cosas que no se dan porque no se deben dar. Soy de la idea de que en la vida las cosas llegan cuando tienen que llegar y a veces, por más que quieras y desees algo, si no tiene que pasar, algo no pasa. Se generó mucha incertidumbre y ansiedad. Empezaron a pasar los días y veía a mi familia, amigos y todo con ganas de saber dónde iba a jugar. Estamos acá, contentos con la decisión y con ganas de ponerme la camiseta”
Acerca de su fichaje por el Manchester United y la similitud con otro delantero uruguayo que ruvo el club, Diego Forlán, Cavani comentó: “Diego Forlán tuvo que dar referencias mías en el Manchester United y es un referente. Cuando él jugaba en el United aún no había llegado yo al fútbol profesional y él ya estaba en la Premier. Forlán demostró lo que era y hoy me toca estar a mi en la Premier”
Cavani confesó en la entrevista que tanto él como su pareja sufrieron el rigor del coronavirus y que, durante esos días complicados, llegó a pasar por su cabeza la idea de dejar el deporte y dedicarse más a la vida en el campo: “La salud de la familia es lo primero. Claro que manejé la idea de dejar el fútbol. Es verdad que manejé esa opción y esa posibilidad de dejar de jugar y quedarme en el campo, dedicarme a mi vida de campo, esperando que todo esto pasara por cómo estaba la situación y que sigue complicada. Hemos sufrido todo el corona con la familia y con mi novia y bueno, la verdad es que estuvo mal por el miedo que despierta. Gracias a Dios marchamos bien y evolucionamos bien y aquí estamos”, comentó.
