Kane, con un ‘hat trick’ y una asistencia, Lo Celso (2), Moura y Alli, de penalti en su posible adiós, no dieron opción al Maccabi Haifa.
El Tottenham estará en la fase de grupos de la Europa League tras pasar el peaje de superar tres eliminatorias a partido único a que se vio condenado al acabar la pasada Premier League en sexto lugar. Tras superar a domicilio al Lokomotiv Plovdiv búlgaro (1-2) y al Shkendija macedonio (1-3), hoy el equipo de José Mourinho no tuvo problemas para golear en casa al Maccabi Haifa (7-2).
Mourinho, a diferencia del martes en la eliminatoria de Copa de la Liga inglesa ganada ante el Chelsea por penaltis, alineó de titular a Harry Kane y el crack inglés, autor de un ‘hat trick’, solo tardó dos minutos en abrir el marcador al rematar solo en el área pequeña a puerta vacía un centro de Ben Davies.
El Maccabi empata pero se rompe por la defensa
Pero el modesto Maccabi Haifa no estaba dispuesto a convertirse en un invitado de piedra y con un fútbol muy directo se lanzó en busca de la sorpresa. Lo hizo a base de lanzamientos lejanos perfectamente dirigidos de Tjaronn Chery, que en su segundo intento sí batió al veterano Joe Hart al poner el balón por la escuadra (17’).
Pero el descaro de los puntas del Maccabi contrastó con la endeblez de su defensa, que apenas 4 minutos después permitió al bajito Lucas Moura cabecear un córner en el primer palo, de espaldas a portería, y adelantar de nuevo al Tottenham.
La calidad de Lo Celso, autor de un doblete
De ahí el descanso el Maccabi quedó a expensas de la calidad de Giovani Lo Celso, que aprovechó la oportunidad que le dio Mourinho al marcar un doblete: primero aprovechó un barullo para colocar el 3-1 (36’) y amplió la cuenta picando con clase sobre la salida de Josh Cohen tras asistencia de un Kane que sacó partido de un grave error defensivo (39’).
En el descanso Mourinho dejó en la caseta a Lo Celso para dar entrada a Dele Alli, cuya continuidad sigue en el aire a poco días del cierre del mercado. El lateral Matt Doherty quiso poner algo de emoción al partido cometiendo un inocente penalti por mano que transformó Nikita Rukavytsya (52’), pero Hart evitó más problemas al repeler con un paradón otro intento lejano de Mohammad Abu Fani (54’).

El árbitro francés Ruddy Buquet acabó con cualquier atisbo de remontada al pitar penalti en un centro que Mabouka desvió con el brazo pegado al cuerpo. Kane transformó la pena máxima (56’) y completó su primer ‘hat trick’ de la temporada, antes de ser sustituido por Sergio Reguilón, tras picar con calidad ante Cohen, aunque todo el mérito de la jugada fue de Steven Bergwijn, que le asistió tras una gran internada por la derecha (74’).
Alli se sumó la fiesta en el descuento redondeando el 7-2 provocando y materializando un penalti en el que podría ser su último gol con la camiseta de los ‘spurs’.
