El delantero del Arsenal confirma que hubo una oferta y da sus motivos para seguir en Londres
Como ya es habitual en cada mercado, hay jugadores que siempre son vinculados con el Barcelona. Uno de ellos en los últimos años es Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, quien ha sonado con fuerza en cada ventana para aterrizar en el Camp Nou.
No obstante, el mismo futbolista confirmó esta vez que estuvo muy cerca de dejar el Arsenal este verano, pero acabó renovando con los gunners hasta 2023. En una entrevista a Canal + Francia, explicó que hubo una oferta del Barcelona y que estuvo muy cerca de convertirse en compañero de Leo Messi: "Hubo varias ofertas, especialmente, del Barcelona, pero también de otros clubes".
Los motivos para rechazar al Barça
A pesar de su voluntad de irse y de la oportunidad de jugar en el Barcelona, especialmente tras saber que Luis Suárez estaba en la rampa de salida, el gabonés finalmente decidió quedarse por dos motivos: "Mi prioridad fue quedarme por dos motivos: En primer lugar, Arteta, porque hablamos mucho durante el confinamiento. Mientras estábamos en casa, hablamos varias ceces y me convenció con su proyecto. Me dijo: "Está bien. Puedes irte. No se que estás pensando pero puedes irte y ganar en otro club o puedes quedarte aquí y dejar un legado".
"En segundo lugar, está el cariño de la afición y el apoyo del club. Desde que estoy aquí me siento uno de los suyos. Es así de simple", aseguró.
