La iniciativa
vendría desde la Alcaldía de Barranquilla, que ha reportado una mejora
significativa respecto al manejo de la pandemia.
Tras vivir meses
de angustia y dolor por culpa del COVID-19, Barranquilla manejó con solidez la
llegada al pico de la pandemia en la ciudad y ahora disfruta de la nueva
normalidad con relativa calma, reapertura de la vida social y económica y
varios días con pocos casos nuevos y sin muertes por el virus.
Lo anterior ha
impulsado al mandatario de la ciudad, Jaime Pumarejo, a redactar una carta para
la ministra del Interior, Alicia Arango y el ministro de Salud Fernando Ruiz,
en la que abre la puerta a la posibilidad de que el Estadio Metropolitano
Roberto Meléndez, casa de la Selección Colombia, pueda recibir público para el
primer juego de las Eliminatorias rumbo a Qatar 2022.
“Con el
apoyo y la rigurosidad técnica de la Federación Colombiana de Fútbol y el Ministerio
del Deporte, queremos prepararnos para llevar a cabo este 8 de octubre el
primer partido de fútbol con asistencia controlada del público, en el marco de
las Eliminatorias rumbo al Mundial, para el encuentro Colombia vs. Venezuela.
En ese sentido, proponemos que el aforo en el escenario sea de hasta el 15 %”
El anterior es un
aparte del texto que surgió en la Alcaldía de Barranquilla y que espera estudio
y desarrollo por parte del Gobierno Nacional, para que entre 5.000 y 7.000
personas puedan acompañar a la Tricolor ante el seleccionado de Venezuela.
“El
distrito se compromete a reforzar los sistemas de verificación que garanticen
el estricto cumplimiento de las medidas de autocuidado y de los protocolos de
bioseguridad (…) Esperamos seguir contando con su valioso y decidido apoyo para
seguir trabajando por una Barranquilla que abre segura”.
Así finaliza la
carta, que espera respuesta para saber si se podrá disputar el primer partido
con hinchas en las gradas desde que llegó la pandemia a territorio colombiano.
