Dieciocho días después de perder la final de la Champions League un PSG plagado de bajas por contagio de Covid-19, entre ellas Neymar y Kylian Mbappé, inició la defensa del título con una sorprendente derrota ante el recién ascendido Lens (1-0). El campeón no perdía en la Ligue 1 desde noviembre ante el Dijon (2-1).
El partido, correspondiente a la segunda jornada y aplazado en su momento para que el PSG dispusiera de más descanso, se disputó ante 5.000 espectadores en el estadio Boellaert-Delelelis.
Dos jóvenes debutantes en el once de Tuchel
Sin Neymar, Mbappé, Di María, Icardi, Keylor Navas, Paredes y Marquinhos tras dar positivo de Covid-19, Thomas Tuchel se las ingenió para alinear un once en el que destacó la presencia de dos debutantes de 18 años, el extremo izquierdo Kays Ruiz-Atil y el delantero centro Arnaud Kalimuendo, elegidos por el técnico en lugar de Jesé Rodríguez, en el banquillo inicialmente, para acompañar en el diezmado ataque a Pablo Sarabia.
En defensa Juan Bernat jugó por la izquierda y Layvin Kurzawa tuvo que cambiarse de banda. La media fue reconocible con Marco Verratti y Ander Herrera, quienes lideraron el abrumador dominio del PSG en la primera parte, pero sin crear claras ocasiones. Las dos únicas antes del descanso fueron protagonizadas curiosamente por los dos debutantes: Ruiz-Atil, con un disparo con rosca que salió rozando al poste (30’), y Kalimuendo, al no llegar por muy poco a un balón en profundidad de Verratti (40’).
Ganago avisa con un disparo al poste y luego marca
El Lens empezó con brío e intensidad antes de ir encerrándose en su área paulatinamente, pero dispuso de la mejor oportunidad en una gran acción personal de Ignatius Ganago que culminó con un chut al poste (17’).
El propio Ganago abrió el marcador al inicio de la segunda mitad al aprovechar un grave error en el pase del meta Marcin Bulka, titular al no estar inscrito aún en la primera jornada Sergio Rico, en su cesión a Verratti. Ganago se adelantó al italiano y fusiló el 1-0 (57’). Era el primer disparo entre los tres palos del partido.
Entra Jesé pero nada cambia
Bulka evitó el segundo gol del Lens poco después al atrapar un remate con el hombro de Simon Banza a un metro de la portería (57’). Una lanzamiento de falta de Herrera ligeramente por encima del larguero fue el único remate peligroso del PSG antes de que Tuchel diera entrada a Jesé por Kalimuendo (74’), pero el exmadridista, voluntarioso, no pudo cambiar el desarrollo del partido.
El Lens, sin necesidad de tener el balón, volvió a sembrar el pánico con un cabezazo cruzado en el segundo palo de Florian Sotoca que no encontró portería por poco (79’). El PSG no tuvo opción ante un rival bien replegado en su área y acabó el partido sin ningún disparo bien dirigido.
