La Federación
de Fútbol de Arabia Saudí (SAFF) anunció este miércoles oficialmente el
lanzamiento de su campaña para albergar la Copa Asiática de la AFC 2027. La
candidatura de Arabia presentó con orgullo su nuevo logotipo y un eslogan
claro: "Avanzando por Asia".
Llevar la Copa de
Asia 2027 a Arabia por primera vez sería la oportunidad de garantizar
que el impulso futbolístico que se está creando en este país se renueve y
amplíe, incluyendo todas y cada una de las asociaciones de fútbol de Asia.
El presidente
de la SAFF, Yasser Al-Mashal, expresó: "A medida que en Arabia Saudí
emprendemos nuestra propia transformación hacia adelante a través de nuestra
'visión nacional 2030', queremos utilizar nuestra pasión por el fútbol como un
catalizador para el crecimiento continuo del fútbol en Asia. Nuestra visión
para la Copa Asiática de la AFC 2027 es construir mucho más que un torneo.
Queremos crear un avance masivo para toda Asia, un nuevo intercambio y una
nueva expansión. Esperamos poder compartir nuestras ideas con toda la familia
del fútbol asiático en los próximos meses ".
Arabia tiene una
larga y exitosa historia futbolística, habiendo ganado la Copa Asiática AFC
tres veces y clasificado para la Copa Mundial de la FIFA cinco veces, pero
hasta ahora nunca ha sido sede de una Copa Asiática AFC oficial.
El secretario
general de la SAFF, Ibrahim Alkassim, recalcó: "La Asociación de Fútbol de
Arabia no sólo está comprometida con albergar una Copa Asiática de la AFC
excepcional en 2027, sino que también estamos comprometidos a crear un fuerte
impacto en el fútbol asiático como parte de la organización del torneo
aquí".
