El anuncio
oficial de la Roma fue publicado después del cierre de la Bolsa de valores de
Milán, en la que cotiza el club.
El Roma hizo
oficial este lunes el cambio de propiedad del club, que pasó de las manos del
estadounidense James Pallotta, presidente desde 2012, a las de su compatriota
Dan Friedkin a cambio de 591 millones de euros.
Los contratos
fueron firmados en la tarde italiana de este lunes en una oficina legal de la
capital italiana y el anuncio oficial del Roma fue publicado después del cierre
de la Bolsa de valores de Milán, en la que cotiza el club.
"El Friedkin
Group ha anunciado la adquisición, a través de Romulus and Remus Investments
LLC, de cerca el 86,6 % del capital social del club y, además, hará una oferta
pública para la compra obligatoria de las acciones ordinarias que quedan, por
cerca del 13,4 % del capital social", se lee en el comunicado oficial del
club.
Friedkin y
Pallotta ya habían firmado un acuerdo vinculante el pasado 6 de agosto para la
adquisición del 86,6 por ciento del club por un precio de compra de 0,1165
euros por acción.
El grupo de
Friedkin, magnate californiano activo en el mercado automovilístico,
cinematográfico y de los hoteles de lujo, manifestó su interés en adquirir al
club ya en 2019 y, tras ser frenado en la negociación por la pandemia del
coronavirus, consiguió su objetivo por una cantidad inferior de 200 millones
con respecto a los 780 millones que estaban en juego en enero.
"Estamos
felices por unirnos a al familia del AS Roma y adquirir a un club icónico y
convertirlo en uno de los principales nombres del universo del fútbol. Es lo
que queremos hacer. Nuestro compromiso para el Roma es total. Estaremos muy
presentes en Roma, una ciudad que ocupa un lugar especial en nuestros
corazones", dijo Friedkin en declaraciones oficiales publicadas por el
club.
"Sabemos que
se nos dio un equipo que representa una parte vital del alma de Roma, y esta es
una responsabilidad que tomaremos con mucha seriedad y mucha humildad",
agregó.
Todo apunta a que
el primer fichaje de la nueva propiedad será el español Pedro Rodríguez , quien
viajó este lunes a Italia para empezar los trámites necesarios para formalizar
el acuerdo.
