Gasperini, técnico del Atalanta, expresó este miércoles sus "remordimientos"
por sufrir una remontada en el tiempo añadido y quedar eliminado por el París
Saint Germain en los cuartos de final de la Liga de Campeones, pero destacó que
solo puede "agradecer" a sus jugadores.
El PSG remontó
con goles de Marquinhos y del camerunés Maxim Choupo-Moting entre el 90 y el 93
al Atalanta y triunfó 2-1, lo que puso fin al sueño europeo del conjunto
italiano y envió al cuadro parisino a las semifinales de la Liga de Campeones.
"Tenemos
remordimientos porque faltaba poco y parecía que podíamos avanzar. Lo que
queda es la satisfacción por haber hecho una gran 'Champions', siempre
creciendo, contra los mejores de Europa. Solo puedo agradecer a los chicos por
lo que vivimos juntos", afirmó Gasperini a "Sky Sport".
"En estos
partidos los rivales son de los mejores del mundo. Cuando entró (el
francés Kylian) Mbappé les dio chispa, también Neymar. Recibir goles en el
añadido duele aún más, pero hicimos lo que debíamos hacer. Tratamos de
aguantar con todo", prosiguió.
El preparador
italiano recordó que la Liga de Campeones es una competición "en la que
los detalles marcan la diferencia", pero consideró igualmente que la
afición de Bérgamo tiene razones para estar orgullosa.
"La gente de
Bérgamo celebra igualmente. Celebra porque se siente parte de nosotros, porque
el equipo lo dio todo, esto es lo que nos piden. El entusiasmo, la pasión, el
tratar de jugar, todo esto lo hemos puesto en el campo. Debemos ser felices", concluyó.
