
La niebla
marcó el regreso al fútbol casi cinco meses después del parón por la pandemia.
En una tarde fría
y gris en la que la neblina cubrió el cielo de Montevideo, el Nacional y el
Peñarol firmaron tablas en un Clásico que terminó 1-1 gracias a los tantos de
Gonzalo Bergessio y David Terans en el regreso del fútbol en Uruguay tras la
pandemia
Cuatro meses y
veintitrés días después de que fuera suspendido el Campeonato Uruguayo tras la
declaración de emergencia sanitaria por la llegada de la COVID-19 al país y sin
público en las tribunas, los equipos grandes no mostraron sus mejores versiones
y repartieron puntos para una tabla que no los tiene bien ubicados.
En los primeros
minutos de juego, el Peñarol se mostró más agresivo que su rival y lo incomodó
con jugadas por la banda izquierda donde el lateral Joaquín Piquerez y el joven
Facundo Pellistri se asociaron para tratar de asistir a Matías Britos y a David
Terans.
Por su parte, el
Nacional optó por pelotazos largos para buscar a sus delanteros Santiago
Rodríguez, Gonzalo Bergessio y Gonzalo 'Chory' Castro.
Las primeras
aproximaciones en el Clásico fueron con remates lejanos que no generaron mayor
peligro. En tanto, las más claras llegaron en los últimos 25 minutos de la
primera parte cuando ambos equipos comenzaron a utilizar jugadas a balón parado
como su arma principal.
De esa forma y a
los 32, el argentino Bergessio adelantó a Nacional, con un potente cabezazo
tras un saque de esquina ejecutado por Gabriel Neves. Tras el gol, los dos
equipos bajaron la intensidad y no generaron situaciones de riesgo hasta el
último instante de la primera etapa cuando Gary Kagelmacher estrelló un balón
contra el poste.
En el comienzo de
la segunda parte, el Peñarol volvió a volcar su ataque hacia la banda izquierda
a la que se sumó desde el banco de relevos Cristian 'Cebolla' Rodríguez, sin
embargo, cuando iba con más intensidad en busca del empate una fuerte entrada
de Britos sobre Mathías Suárez dejó al equipo con 10 jugadores.
Después de esa
jugada, el entrenador del Nacional, Gustavo Munúa, mandó al campo a los veloces
Sebastián Fernández y Brian Ocampo para tratar de aprovechar los espacios que
