Finalizará
"a comienzos de 2021" con la intención de que el club tenga "el
mejor campo de juego del país".
River Plate
anunció este martes que realizará obras en el estadio Monumental que
finalizarán "a comienzos de 2021", que cambiará el césped y que
eliminará la pista de atletismo para que el club tenga "el mejor campo de
juego del país".
"Aprovechando
los meses por delante en los que jugará sin público los partidos de local, el
Club Atlético River Plate comienza una obra sin precedentes en el fútbol
argentino: cambiará todo el suelo del campo de juego para convertirlo en un
sistema híbrido de última generación que terminará definitivamente con muchos
de los problemas que tienen los campos de juego en el país", informó el
club a través de su sitio web.
Estas
modificaciones dejarán el campo de juego del Monumental "a la altura de
los mejores estadios del mundo".
"Gracias a
este nuevo sistema -similar al implementado en los estadios de Barcelona, Real
Madrid y Manchester United, entre muchos otros- el césped del nuevo campo será
sostenible durante todo el año evitando los problemas que generan las
transiciones de especies que se hacían hasta el momento. Tampoco tendrá los
problemas que hoy padece de absorción de agua los días de tormenta", añade
el comunicado.
El nuevo césped
será, según el club, más seguro, estable y cómodo para los jugadores.
"Para
realizar esta obra se bajará el campo de juego hasta alcanzar el nivel óptimo
definido por el estudio geotécnico realizado durante las últimas semanas.
Además se realizarán dos cambios adicionales muy significativos en el estadio:
se eliminará la pista de atletismo y se construirá un nuevo túnel único por
donde saldrán al campo de juego tanto el equipo local como el visitante",
detalla el texto.
Estas
modificaciones "permitirán en el futuro" que se construyan
"tribunas más cercanas al campo de juego".
El club detalló
que la obra se financiará con ingresos corrientes a lo largo de doce meses y
que estará "finalizada a comienzos de 2021".
River Plate tiene
un complejo deportivo en la localidad de Ezeiza, en la provincia de Buenos
Aires, con varios campos de fútbol en los que suelen entrenar los jugadores.
El conjunto
dirigido por Marcelo Gallardo, que no juega desde marzo por la pandemia del
coronavirus, visitará al Sao Paulo el 17 de septiembre en la tercera jornada de
la Copa Libertadores y el 30 del mismo mes recibirá a los brasileños.
El club no
detalló dónde se jugarán los partidos que disputará River Plate de local este
2020.
El Antonio
Vespucio Liberti, conocido como 'el Monumental', tiene capacidad para unos
70.000 espectadores, suele albergar los partidos de la selección argentina y es
uno de los estadios más importantes del país.
La Albiceleste se
consagró allí campeona del mundo por primera vez en el Mundial de 1978 al
vencer a Holanda por 3-1.
