El presidente
de la casa madre del futbol está bajo el radar de la justicia suiza.
Luego que FIFA
sufriese una dura y profunda investigación en torno a posibles sobornos en
torno a las votaciones llevadas a cabo para definir las sedes de los Mundiales
de Rusia 2018 y Qatar 2022, la casa madre del futbol, este jueves, recibió un
cimbronazo en relación a Gianni Infantino, su presidente.
Según reportaron
distintos periódicos europeos, la justicia suiza decidió procesar penalmente al
máximo responsable de la institución. Aparentemente, Infantino, durante el
mencionado proceso de investigación llevado a cabo, mantuvo una serie de
reuniones entre 2016 y 2017 con Michael Lauber, Fiscal General del país en
cuestión.

Teniendo en
cuenta que esas "reuniones secretas" fueron llevadas a cabo en un
supuesto marco y contexto sospechoso por la cuestión relacionada a las Copas
del Mundo, el Fiscal y el presidente de FIFA fueron acusados de "abuso del
cargo, violación del secreto de función, favoritismo y obstaculización de la
acción penal".

marcar que los implicados, por cuestiones obvias, serán considerados como
'inocentes' hasta que las pruebas puedan -o no- demostrar lo contrario y la
justicia de suiza de un nuevo paso en torno a la investigación en cuestión.
Horas más tarde
de nunciarse el sorpresivo movimiento de la justicia suiza, la FIFA emitió un
comunicado oficial a través de sus principales canales de comunicación.
Mediante el mismo, Infantino se defendió y, entre otras cosas, marcó: “Reunirse
con el Fiscal General de Suiza es perfectamente legítimo y legal. No es una
violación de nada. Por el contrario, también es parte de los deberes
fiduciarios del presidente de la FIFA“.
