Fichajes Betis El nuevo director general deportivo habla de nombres propios.
Antonio Cordón, nuevo director general deportivo del Betis, ha sido protagonista esta noche en los micrófonos de El Transistor, de Onda Cero, donde además de insistir en las líneas maestras de su proyecto en el club verdiblanco, se ha referido a nombres propios, como los de Dani Ceballos y Takefusa Kubo, relacionados en las últimas semanas con su equipo por un supuesto interés en su contratación.
¿Tiene en la agenda una llamada al Real Madrid?
"¿Para fichar a algún jugador o para que ellos fichen a uno nuestro? No, no... Es un mercado que va a ser muy largo, que hay que tener paciencia. Sé que todo el mundo está pendiente de los fichajes, que se produzcan incorporaciones, pero sabemos el problema económico que hay en toda Europa prácticamente, en España, y sabemos que va a ser un mercado difícil para todos los clubes. La economía se ha visto muy afectada en los clubes y son tiempos de apretarse muchísimo el cinturón y buscar todos los recursos posibles buscando los mejores jugadores y lo más barato posible, buscar alternativas que no supongan grandes desembolsos económicos".
¿Al Betis le gustan Kubo y Ceballos?
"Con respecto a Kubo, el Betis tiene actualmente tres plazas de jugadores que estamos muy contentos con ellos y en la actualidad son jugadores del Betis, así que por ese lado estamos cubiertos. Y en el caso de Ceballos, todos sabemos lo gran jugador que es, sabemos su pasado, es un jugador muy interesante como todo el mundo sabe, un gran jugador. A partir de ahí, vamos a ver qué grupo de trabajo, qué equipo hacemos y a qué vamos a jugar. Ahí el míster también tiene mucho que opinar".
Mucha exigencia en el Betis
"Sí, bueno, por la exigencia de los últimos años, por el volumen de afición y su calor, sé que la exigencia es muy alta. Pero esperemos hacerlo lo mejor posible".
Ficharon a Pellegrini antes que a él
"Me imagino que el Betis, consciente de que había trabajado con Manuel y la relación había sido muy buena en Villarreal, era obvio que nos íbamos a llevar muy bien. Yo hasta el día 3 de este mes no me desvinculo de la Federación de Ecuador, no presento mi dimisión, y hasta dos semanas después o así no empezamos las conversaciones que han fructificado en los últimos días".
Si no estuviera Pellegrini, ¿podría haber dicho que no?
"Podía caber la posibilidad. Sí es cierto que las circunstancias eran que Manuel llegó un poquito antes que yo, y entiendo que ellos al pensar en el perfil que tenía que venir con Manuel, sabían que existía una muy buena relación".
Ya se reúne con Pellegrini
"Venimos desde que era oficial, por mi parte, la semana pasada, hablando todo el fin de semana y ya estamos trabajando todos estos días".
Más centrado en fichajes o en ventas
"Ahora mismo creo que es un mercado muy largo el que nos espera, casi dos meses. Estos días lo principal que he estado haciendo es trabajar con todos los departamentos del club, conociendo el club, a las personas y la estructura, cómo trabajan, y a partir de ahí seguimos dentro de la Secretaría Técnica trabajando como todo el año para estar preparados para este mercado".
¿Le preocupa la situación por los positivos por covid-19?
"Como a todo el mundo, es algo que estamos viviendo, que vamos a seguir viviendo los próximos meses y tenemos que tener cuidado. Lo más importante es la salud de los jugadores, de las personas. Sin los jugadores es difícil que pueda haber fútbol. Abogo para que llegue lo antes posible la famosa vacuna y se solucionen estos problemas porque lo ideal es que haya gente en los estadios, es lo más bonito. Esperemos que se vaya solucionando poco a poco".
No hay test durante las vacaciones
"Sí, ellos están con sus familias ahora, procurando cuidarse lo máximo posible. Son conscientes del peligro que existe y esperemos que todos vengan sanos cuando podamos hacer las pruebas".
¿Le da mucho trabajo Pellegrini?
"A los jugadores seguro... Manuel es un entrenador exigente, con muchas ganas de hacer algo bonito con el Real Betis, está muy ilusionado y cuanto mejor grupo tenga para trabajar, estará más contento".
Cómo se despierta a un 'gigante' como el Betis
"No, no... Me refiero a que en el Betis todos son conscientes de que esta temporada no ha sido buena, no ha dado esa alegría. Es un club que cae bien en España y en Europa, pero en los últimos tiempos los resultados no han sido adecuados. Hay una estructura muy bien diseñada con profesionales que trabajan muy bien y es importante que cada uno sea líder de su propio trabajo, que cada uno sea muy autoexigente, que el grupo de jugadores lo sea. Hay que despertar, todos tienen que hacerlo para crear esa ilusión que tenemos que llevar a la afición".
