Pablo
Longoria es el nuevo director deportivo del Olympique de Marsella. El que
fuera mano derecha de Marcelino García Toral y Mateu Alemany en el
Valencia es el elegido para sustituir a Andoni Zubizarreta, destituido en mayo,
como máximo responsable de la entidad del Velodrome.
Longoria, que se
ha reunido en varias ocasiones con Franck McCourt, (dueño del
Marsella) lleva sin equipo desde que dejara el Valencia en 2019. Además, su
fichaje cuenta con la bendición del técnico del cuadro marsellés, André
Villas-Boas. El preparador luso ha concedido una entrevista al portal
'laprovence' en la que confesaba que Longoria quiso ficharle en 2009 cuando
estaba al frente de área deportiva del Recreativo de Huelva.

bien. Pablo fue el primer director deportivo que me invitó a ser entrenador.
Fue en el Recreativo de Huelva, cuando yo era asistente de José Mourinho. No
hemos hablado desde 2009. Cuando me llamó por primera vez, tenía 24 años.
Espero que se integre bien, le deseo lo mejor en el Olympique de
Marsella", indicaba Villas-Boas.
Longoria aterriza
en el Olympique de Marsella tras haber trabajado en Newcastle, Recreativo,
Atalanta, Sassuolo, Juventus y Valencia. En Mestalla tuvo su puesto de máxima
responsabilidad ostentando el cargo de director del Área Técnica. Ahora, da un
paso más y pasa a ser la máxima autoridad deportiva del Olympique de Marsella.
