castigó la indolencia del cuadro de Solskjaer, que se relajó en Old Trafford y
se dejó un empate que le aleja de la élite.
El United jugó
con fuego y se dejó un empate en Old Trafford frente a un Southampton que no se
abandonó. El cuadro de Hasenhüttl se llevó un merecido premio en el último
suspiro, en un saque de esquina terriblemente defendido por Lindelöf y en el
que De Gea pudo hacer más. Un punto insuficiente para un equipo que se jugaba
escalar a la Champions, incomprensible cómo se dejó ir frente a un rival que se
fue de Manchester con una sonrisa. El United, arrinconado a la Europa League de
momento.
Sabe el cuadro de
Solskjaer que tiene tanta dinamita que a veces se despista y el Southampton
penalizó una mala noche. Casi siempre encuentra arreglo en jugadores de ataque,
un aval que no le funcionó esta vez. El noruego ha dado con la solución y no
cambia su once pero empieza a dar señales de cierto cansancio ahora que la liga
está apretada en un puño, decepcionante en la jornada en la que supo que el
City no va a cumplir ninguna sanción en Europa.
No pudo celebrar
De Gea sus 400 encuentros con la camiseta del United sin encajar. Pero no fue
culpa del meta sino de un atolondrado Pogba, tan sobrado que en ocasiones se le
olvida que no juega solo. Se relajó en un control el francés e Ings le robó la
cartera. Redmond encontró a Armstrong y el escocés no falló. Se encontró el
cuadro de Manchester a un buen Southampton, crecido tras el triunfo ante el
City la semana pasada. Un equipo sin complejos, dispuesto a incomodar.
El United, sin
embargo, tiene prisa. No se entretiene ni se adorna sino que es funcional,
infalible al contragolpe. Rashford igualó en una jugada que resaltó a Martial,
excelente de espaldas. Aguantó y soltó el balón en el momento preciso para que
el ariete inglés pusiera el 1-1. Al Southampton no le benefició que se abriera
el choque, arma letal para un United que se supo sobreponer al susto inicial en
apenas tres minutos. Sin brillar y sin la mejor versión de Bruno Fernandes.
Señal de que al
United le salen muchas cosas, pero no todas. Martial volvió a hacer de las
suyas, futbolista travieso cuando encara a su par. Un remate potente batió a
McCarthy para remontar un choque en el que no se arrugó. No se abandonó tampoco
el cuadro de Hasenhüttl, expeditivo desde el ingreso de Long a la cancha.
Redmond acarició el 2-2 y Obafemi sentenció al United en la última jugada, de
cabeza, para retratar a Lindelöf, a De Gea y a un United que se queda sin una
plaza en Champions. Un castigo a la indolencia.
