El Schalke cerró
la temporada 2020-21 de capa caída. Pasó de estar peleando por Europa
antes del coronavirus a encadenar una racha de 16 partidos sin ganar que
le llevó a acabar 12º en la Bundesliga.
A ello hay que
sumar los problemas económicos que le han llevado a anunciar un tope salarial
máximo de 2,5 millones de euros por jugador para la próxima temporada. Por
si fuera poco, el Bayern se ha llevado gratis a su prometedor portero,
Alexander Nübel, y acaba de anunciar el fichaje de otra 'joya' de la
cantera 'minera': Leroy Sané.
Una situación que
el mandamás del Bayern, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, ha aprovechado para recordar la
cantidad de talento propio que los de Genserkinchen han dejado escapar en los
últimos años: Manuel Neuer, Mesut Özil, Leroy Sané, el propio Nübel... Un
grupo al que se podría sumar a Leon Goretzka, que no es estrictamente canterano
del Schalke, pero llegó muy joven del 1860 Múnich.

Conviene recordar
que por todos ellos el Schalke ha recibido únicamente 55 millones. Recibió 50
por Sané, 5 por Özil, pero Neuer, Nübel y Goretzka se fueron gratis. Gündogan,
también, siendo aún un canterano.
