Pese a que la
UEFA dijera que no hay plan B, desde este miércoles se ha aplicado esta medida
en 19 suburbios.
A pesar de que la
UEFA insistió el martes en que no tiene “un plan B” con respecto a Lisboa como
sede de la fase final, la Champios se ve de nuevo amenazada por el el
coronavirus. No en vano desde este miércoles 19 distritos del norte de Lisboa,
donde persisten brotes de contagio, en total 700.000 personas, están de nuevo
confinadas.
“Esperamos
que todo esté bien y que sea posible organizar el torneo en Portugal. Por el
momento, no hay razón para planificar un plan B”, aseguró el martes un portavoz
de la UEFA. El primer ministro de Portugal, Antonio Costa, quien habló con el
presidente de la UEFA, Aleksander Ceferin, el martes por la noche, afirmó: “Se
están tomando todas las medidas para garantizar que este torneo sea organizado
de manera saludable y segura“.
Con un promedio
de 321 nuevas infecciones por día, el número de casos nuevos en Portugal
aumentó en un tercio en junio en comparación con mayo. Los nuevos casos siguen
concentrados en gran medida en la región de Lisboa, que será la sede de la
final a ocho de la Champions del 12 al 23 de agosto. El torneo se interrumpió
en marzo.
Pero Antonio
Costa quiere ser tranquilizador: la reconfiguración de ciertos distritos de los
suburbios del norte de Lisboa “no tiene nada que ver con el centro de Lisboa,
donde se llevará a cabo la Champions”, explicó en una entrevista para el diario
La Vanguardia. “No es en Lisboa, sino en áreas vecinas”, insistió.
Sin embargo,
entre los 19 distritos afectados por el confinamiento, hay un distrito del
municipio de Lisboa, el de Santa Clara, vecino del distrito de Lumiar, donde se
encuentra el estadio del Sporting de Portugal, Alvalade, uno de los dos
estadios en los que se debe jugar la Champions. El otro, Da Luz, el del
Benfica. Si la UEFA tenía esperanzas de que pudiera haber público en los
estadios, con este escenario aprece como muy improbable. De hecho, Antonio
Lacerda Sales, secretario de Estado de Sanidad, dijo que “cuanto al público, en
la actual situación sanitaria evidentemente no”.
Resta por saber
si los 8 equipos clasificados se arriesgarán a viajar a Lisboa. Paris
Saint-Germain (PSG), Atlético, Atalanta y Leipzig ya se han clasificado para
esta final a ocho. Los cuatro últimos partidos de vuelta de octavos de final
que aún deben jugarse y de los que saldrán los otros cuatro participantes son
Barcelona-Nápoles, Manchester City-Real Madrid, Bayern-Chelsea y Juventus-Lyon.
Se disputarán el 7 y 8 de agosto, ya sea en los estadios originalmente
programados o en Portugal. En Portugal se están produciendo entre 300 y 400
nuevos casos cada día, mientras que en mayo era un centenar.
