deberá esperar para cantar el ansiado alirón, aunque podría llegar en la
próxima jornada ante el Crystal Palace, en función del resultado que consiga el
City mañana.
Los de Klopp
encararon este regreso a la Premier League tras el parón por el efecto del
coronavirus con las esperanzas renovadas (tras caer eliminado en Champions) de
cantar el alirón cuanto antes, pero conscientes de que hoy no podían ser
campeones en casa de su eterno rival ciudadano, ya que el Mancester City venció
al Arsenal por lo que retrasaba la posible celebración.

Como no pudo de
ser otra forma, el derbi comenzó con la lluvia como gran protagonista para dar
aún más forma a la esperada reanudación de la competición domestica de
Inglaterra. Klopp no alineó a su gran tridente (Mané-Firmino-Salah) y apostó
por la titularidad de Minamino, ya que el atacante egipcio arrastró algunos
problemas físicos hasta última hora.

instantes el Everton salió firme al césped de Goodison Park y ya en el 3’

paso de los minutos el Liverpool comenzó a sentirse más cómodo en el terreno de
juego y empezaron a encontrar espacios a la espalda de la defensa ‘toffee’.
La primera
llegada ‘red’ llegó en el 29’ a balón parado con un remate de cabeza del
central Matip, que por poco cantó gol. Más tarde también lo intentó Firmino con
la ya clásica salida al contragolpe, pero el disparo raso le salió algo
mordido. Una primera parte bastante plana y con pocas llegadas claras donde los
jugadores acusaron el parón de la competición.
En la reanudación
Klopp introdujo cambios en el terreno de juego con la entrada de Chamberlain
para ganar profundidad y rapidez por las bandas (en detrimento de Minamino) y
también dando entrada a Origi y Wijnaldum.
Sin embargo, las
mejores ocasiones de la segunda mitad las dispuso el Everton que rozó el tanto
en el 78’ con una doble ocasión, que acabó en el poste, pero el de siempre,
Vand Dijk estuvo providencial para despejar el balón fuera del área de Alisson.
Este resultado
deja al Liverpool sin opciones de cantar el alirón en el día de mañana (juega
el City ante el Burnley), ya que debían ganar en el derbi y esperar al pinchazo
de los de Guardiola en su partido del domingo. El ansiado titulo ‘red’ podría
llegar en la próxima jornada en el encuentro ante el Crystal Palace, en función
del City, con un partido menos.
