anunció una sanción de 3 millones de euros al Olympique de Marsella y una
retención del 15 % de sus ingresos por participar en competiciones europeas las
dos próximas temporadas por no haber respetado las reglas del ‘fair play’
financiero.

La Cámara de
Adjudicación del Comité de Control Financiero de Clubes de la UEFA (CFCB) tomó
el pasado 12 de junio su decisión sobre el caso, después de que el investigador
jefe del CFCB se lo remitiera "tras el incumplimiento de un acuerdo de
liquidación al que el club se suscribió en junio de 2019".
Además de la
multa, el Marsella fue sancionado con una retención permanente del 15 % de los
ingresos que tendría derecho a recibir por cualquier participación en las
competiciones de clubes de la UEFA en las temporadas 2020-2021, cuando jugará
la Liga de Campeones, y 2021-2022.
Según el
comunicado del órgano rector del fútbol europeo, integrado por 55 federaciones
nacionales, el club también ve limitado a 23 jugadores el número de futbolistas
que puede inscribir en su ‘Lista A’ para participar en esas competiciones tanto
para las próximas dos temporadas como para la 2022-2023.

"Como
resultado de esta decisión, el acuerdo de liquidación a partir de junio de 2019
ya no está en vigor", añadió la UEFA, que recordó que la sentencia puede
ser recurrida ante el Tribunal de Arbitraje Deportivo.
La UEFA había
anunciado en marzo que el caso iba a ser examinado ante la CFCB por no haber
respetado el déficit negociado, por el que las pérdidas no debían exceder los
50 millones de euros en junio del año pasado.
El acuerdo
abarcaba hasta la temporada 2022-2023, año en el que, según el mismo, el
conjunto galo se comprometía a alcanzar "el pleno respeto del umbral de
rentabilidad".
El llamado ‘fair
play’ financiero prohíbe a los clubes participantes en las competiciones
europeas gastar más de lo que ingresan, y las sanciones en caso de no
respetarlo pueden llegar hasta la exclusión de las mismas, aunque esto no ha
sucedido en este caso.
