El presidente de
la Federación Mexicana de Futbol se mostró esperanzado en una vuelta a ambas
competencias.
Los equipos de la
Liga MX dejaron de participar de la Copa Libertadores en el 2017, priorizando
el calendario del torneo local y la Concacaf. No obstante, desde aquel momento
la decisión fue cuestionada en lo deportivo, razón por la cual actualmente las
altas esferas trabajan para solucionarlo y, el 2024, es un año que puede marcar
un antes y un después.
Yon de Luisa,
presidente de la Federación Mexicana de Futbol, cree que la imagen dejada en el
pasado se transformó en una puerta que nunca se cerró: "Yo creo que el
hecho de que equipos mexicanos a nivel clubes hayan participado en la Copa
Libertadores y la selección mexicana en la Copa América en el pasado, dejó
muchas cosas muy positivas. Si por cuestiones de las confederaciones, del
calendario o por cualquier cosa que haya sido, en el pasado se decidió no
participar más, es así y hay que aceptarlo. Lo importante es qué hacemos para
el futuro”.
“El
futuro nos dice que, a nivel calendario, en el 2024 tenemos la gran oportunidad
de regresar a una copa continental. Una Copa América que sea desde
Norteamérica, Centroamérica y Sudamérica, y que podamos tener un gran torneo
que seguramente será de gran valía deportiva y producto hacia las
aficiones", contó de Luisa en diálogo con Fox Sports.

El mandatario de
la FMF involucra el regreso a las competiciones junto a la Conmebol, como una
oportunidad para preparar al Tri de la mejor manera de cara al Mundial: “Si
logramos que tanto la Conmebol como la Concacaf logren los acuerdos
pertinentes, México es el primero que va a votar para que se lleven a cabo
estos torneos compartidos. Es fundamental apoyar el proyecto del Tata Martino,
justo dos años antes de tener el Mundial en México”, profundizó.
La Copa del Mundo
2026 parece lejana, aunque realmente no falta demasiado para que suceda. Allí,
la selección nacional tendrá una oportunidad de oro para hacer historia. De
