UEFA quiere
partidos únicos y apuesta por jugar la Champions se juegue en Lisboa y la
Europa League en una región de Alemania.
El proyecto de la
UEFA va cogiendo cuerpo y forma. Aún no hay oficialidad en cuanto a calendario,
formato y sede para acabar la Champions y la Europa League, pero UEFA sigue
diseñando lo que parece será el plan "A" de la próxima reunión
telemática del próximo día 17. La UEFA tiene la intención de que Portugal,
concretamente Lisboa, sea la sede final de la Champions League. Y que Alemania,
concretamente la región de Nordhein-Westalen, acoja los encuentros hasta acabar
la presente edición de la Europa League. Por ahora, UEFA, que primero tuvo en
mente una posible 'Final a 4' del torneo, ahora está más cerca de impulsar un
modelo 'Final a 8'.

Aún no es
oficial, pero UEFA sigue insistiendo a los clubes para disputar los octavos de
final de Champions en terreno neutral. La UEFA ya ha consultado al Real Madrid
y al Barça, representantes españoles, de esta circunstancia. La idea que está
cobrando fuerza es que blancos y azulgranas pudieran dsiputar sus partidos de
vuelta de octavos de final, ante City y Nápoles, respectivamente, entre los
días 1 y 2 de agosto.
Lisboa, gran
favorita; Madrid, una alternativa sobre la mesa
En este momento,
la gran favorita para albergar la final en caso de que Estambul renuncie, sería
Lisboa. Primero, porque, a pesar del repunte de los últimos días, en Portugal
la pandemia no ha tenido un efecto brutal. Y segundo, porque la capital lusa
tendría dos estadios disponibles (La Luz y José Alvalave). Eso sí, no es la
única ciudad en las "quinielas", porque Madrid también está en la
carrera por disputar la final de la Champions. Eso sí, la UEFA tiene claro que
Lisboa es, sin duda, la sede favorita para organizar la fase final.
La Europa
League, en Alemania
En otro orden de
cosas y según fuentes cercanas a la UEFA explican a Goal, la Europa League, con
toda probabilidad, no se disputará en la sede de Gdansk, en Polonia. Tras la
pandemia, lo que la UEFA plantea y pronto comunicará de manera oficial es que
Alemania será el país encargado de acoger los partidos de Liga Europa. La
región escogida, aunque aún no es oficial por partede la UEFA, es la de
Nordrhein-Westfalen, donde podría contar con los estadios de hasta cuatro
equipos: Schalke 04, Duisburgo, Fortuna Düsseldorf y Colonia.
