Esa es la
propuesta a la Federación italiana en el caso de que se tuviera que decretar el
final de la Serie A sin campeón ni descensos ya consumados aritméticamente.
Mientras la Serie
A se prepara para volver al campo el próximo 20 de junio, se trabaja también en
los supuestos de que, tras el reinicio, no se pueda llegar a terminar el
campeonato por un nuevo brote de coronavirus o positivos múltiples en los
equipos. Se venían discutiendo fórmulas de emergencia. La Federación proponía
la aprobación de un algoritmo para, si fuera necesario, dilucidar el final de
campeonato, con su campeón y los equipos que retrocederían a segunda división.
Como solución alternativa, si al menos se pudiera jugar de forma acortada,
existía sobre la mesa también la opción de utilizar un playoff para decretar
campeón y los descensos.
Sin embargo,
según explica hoy la Gazzetta dello Sport, en la asamblea de clubes se ha
dedidido de forma mayoritaria hacer una propuesta a la federación con otra
forma de concluir la competición. Esa no pasa ni por el playoff ni por el
famoso algoritmo. Los clubes prefieren que si no hay campeón matemático ni
descensos asegurados aritméticamente llegado el momento de la suspensión, se
deje el título vacante y que, igualmente, ningún equipo baje a la Serie B. La
propuesta de la asamblea de la Serie A tiene que ser ahora aprobada por la
Federación, que desde el primer momento se ha presentado como reacia a terminar
la temporada sin campeón ni descensos. De nuevo, tensión entre los estamentos.
De hecho, Gravina, presidente de la federación, había ya manifestado su deseo
de acudir al algoritmo en caso de que tuviera que darse por finalizada la
temporada precipitadamente.
