El abogado del
‘Pelusa’ acusa al club de no “quererle renovar” y el presidente replica que le
ofreció el mismo contrato pero lo rechazó.
Matías Morla,
abogado de Diego Armando Maradona, asegura que los directivos del Gimnasia y
Esgrima La Plata "no le quieren renovar" el contrato a su célebre
entrenador, pero el presidente del club aseguró que le ofrecieron "el
mismo contrato" y que esa oferta fue rechazada. La continuidad del
‘Pelusa’, en definitiva, pende ahora de un hilo pese a que días atrás
trascendió que las negociaciones estaban muy avanzadas.
"Diego se
jugó todo por Gimnasia. No faltó a un solo partido e incluso desafiando las
recomendaciones de sus médicos. Hoy aquellos que lo fueron a buscar cuando todo
se prendía fuego no le quieren renovar. Maradona quiere seguir en
Gimnasia", escribió Morla en su cuenta de Twitter.
El presidente del
Gimnasia, Gabriel Pellegrino, dijo que desde el entorno de Maradona
"pretendían un aumento de salario" que el club platense no puede
asumir.
"Ofrecimos
el mismo contrato para Maradona y la respuesta fue no. Ya mantenerlo es un
esfuerzo para nosotros. El problema no es Diego Maradona, es la gente que lo
maneja. Tiene un grupo de gente que no permite que hablemos con él", dijo
Pellegrino a la radio La Redonda. Sin embargo, el dirigente no dio por
terminadas las negociaciones.
Salvado del
descenso por la cancelación
Maradona asumió
el cargo de entrenador del 'Lobo' en septiembre de 2019 con el equipo peleando por
la permanencia en la Primera División.
Tras buenos
resultados pero todavía en zona de descenso, el Gimnasia de Maradona se aseguró
un lugar en la máxima categoría durante la próxima temporada porque la
Asociación del Fútbol Argentino (AFA) suspendió los descensos por la crisis
sanitaria provocada por la pandemia de coronavirus.
Excelente
relación
Maradona tenía
una excelente relación con Pellegrino e incluso lo apoyó en las elecciones
presidenciales del club de noviembre de 2019.
"Maradona
nos hizo bien y sabemos que Gimnasia le hizo muy bien a él. Yo no creo que
Maradona sepa esto. Él estaba muy contento con Gimnasia", dijo el
directivo.
El fútbol
argentino se suspendió a mediados de marzo. La AFA dio por finalizada la
temporada y no hay fecha de regreso estipulada para la actividad.
