catalán afronta con renovadas ilusiones la reanudación de las competiciones con
la Roma, rival del Sevilla en octavos
Cedido por el
Barça el 31 de enero, Carles Pérez apenas pudo jugar 7 partidos, marcar un gol
y dar una asistencia con la Roma antes de que la competiciones quedaron
suspendidas en marzo debido a la pandemia de coronavirus. Tres meses después el
delantero catalán, de 22 años, afronta con renovada ilusión la reanudación de
la Serie A partir del 20 de junio.
“Tanto
yo como mis compañeros estábamos ansiosos por comenzar de nuevo. Estamos
felices de que haya una fecha, el 20 de junio, para este reinicio que nos
satisface a todos. Creo que hace felices a todas las personas que desean un
nuevo comienzo del fútbol y el campeonato italiano”, asegura Carles Pérez en
declaraciones a Sky Sport.
El extremo de
Granollers tiene las ideas claras sobre lo que quiere lograr con la Roma entre
ahora y agosto: “Podemos ganar la Europa League, somos un equipo capaz de
lograr cualquier objetivo”, asegura, ambicioso. “En cuanto a la Serie A, no
tengo dudas, todos estamos decididos a comenzar fuertes, convencidos de que
podemos llegar al cuarto lugar“, que daría acceso a la Champions League.
Quintos en la
Serie A y en octavos de la Europa League
A 12 jornadas del
final del campeonato italiano, la Roma es quinta, a 3 puntos de un Atalanta que
tiene un partido pendiente por disputar. Mientras, en la Europa League, el
equipo de Paulo Fonseca se enfrentará al Sevilla en octavos de final cuando la
competición se reanude en agosto.
Fonseca me
pide que juegue más adentro
Carles Pérez está
encantado con Fonseca. “Me dio confianza de inmediato y para mí esto es bonito
y positivo”, destaca. “En Barcelona estaba más acostumbrado a jugar en largo,
aquí me pide que juegue más adentro y, por tanto, me está enseñando los movimientos,
cuándo hacerlo en el momento adecuado. Estoy mejorando mucho con él “.

Carles Pérez está
decidido a ganarse la titularidad ya que es el único extremo que podría seguir
la próxima temporada al estar cedido con opción de compra obligatoria de la
Roma por once millones de euros. “Me recibieron muy bien, me siento muy bien y
he recibido mucho cariño de la gente”, confiesa. “Espero quedarme mucho tiempo
y durante muchos años, hacer muchos goles y asistencias. Aunque lo que importa
son los resultados y las victorias del equipo“.
