Ferrero, presidente de la Sampdoria, confiesa que fue uno de los clubs más
afectados, pero celebra que se vuelva a competir.
Italia ha sido
uno de los países más afectados por el coronavirus y eso ha repercutido también
al mundo del fútbol, con varios clubs que se han visto muy perjudicados.
Este ha sido el
caso de la Sampdoria que, tal y como ha confesado Massimo Ferrero, ha
presentado casos desorbitados. “Hemos sido goleados, incluso nuestro médico, al
que amo mucho, lo pasó. Los chicos están bien, tranquilos y quieren jugar. Es
muy triste, porque no sabemos nada de la enfermedad. Tuvimos entre 15 y 17
positivos, no es broma. Los chicos están contentos, tranquilos y entrenando”,
explicó Ferrero.
Lo cierto es que,
pese a pasar todo ese calvario, tienen ganas de que se reanude la temporada el
20 de junio. “Estamos contentos con la reanudación de la Serie A. Comenzar el
campeonato significa que el monstruo del coronavirus está desapareciendo y
podemos volver a la normalidad. Luchamos contra un enemigo invisible, pero
siempre dije que en condiciones adecuadas podríamos comenzar de nuevo, y ahora
estamos en ese punto”.
Respecto a las
disputas con la televisión, que ha tenido un estira y afloja con la Serie A y
los equipos, Ferrero habló sin rencores: “No hay disputas, hay acuerdos que
deben respetarse. Sky necesita el fútbol y el fútbol necesita a Sky. Bajaría un
poco el tono. Volvamos al deporte porque durante este parón se ha hablado
mucho. Esperamos volver a la normalidad. Todos hablan y sería mejor quedarse
callado. Hasta que llegue la vacuna, tendremos que rezarle a Dios”.
