Jürgen Klopp,
entrenador del Liverpool, se mostró este miércoles, tras la vuelta de los
entrenamientos colectivos (aunque en grupos reducidos) optimista sobre las
posibilidades que tiene la Premier de reanudarse, tras permanecer suspendida
desde el 13 de marzo a causa de la pandemia del coronavirus. Klopp estaba
animado tras la primera sesión colectiva de su equipo: “Me siento como un niño
el primer día de colegio”, dijo. Pero, antes que nada, quiso dejar claro que
“no obligaremos a ningún jugador a entrenar si no se siente seguro, cada uno
debe tomar su decisión”.
Klopp manifestó
que este regreso a las sesiones en grupo “es un buen signo para la gente”. Como
ya manifestó el martes, el entrenador alemán cree que las instalaciones son “lo
suficiente seguras” para esta primera fase de entrenamiento, pero que aceptaría
la suspensión de la Premier “para salvar una vida, hay cosas mucho más
importantes que ser campeón”.

La suspensión de
la Premier llegó para el Liverpool cuando el equipo ‘red’ estaba a sólo dos
victorias de proclamarse campeón de Inglaterra por primera vez desde 1990. Los
‘reds’ tienen 25 puntos más que el Manchester City de Pep Guardiola (los
‘citizens’, con un partido pendiente).
“Que el
fútbol esté en camino de volver es un buen signo apra la gente. Será largo el
camino, no podemos precipitarnos. En cuanto a los entrenamientos, ahora, una
primera fase con entrenamientos con distancia física”, fueron las palabras de
Klopp.
En el primer
entrenamiento colectivo ‘red’ participaron 10 jugadores, con las
correspondientes distancias sociales. Después hubo 2 sesiones más en grupo
reducido. El objetivo de la Premier es que la competición se reanude el 12 de
junio. El martes el organismo anunció 6 positivos tras los tests realizados a
748 jugadores, entrenadores y empleados. No desveló su identidad. Pero el
Watford afirmó que 3 de ellos pertenecen a su club (un jugador y 2 miembros del
cuerpo técnico), del mismo modo que el martes el Burnley explicó que Ian Woan,
ayudante de su entrenador Sean Dyche, dio positivo.
