Los tres
eventos que se iban a realizar en conjunto a la Liga MX son suspendidos.
La tarde del
martes se dio un paso que acerca cada vez más a la finalización de la temporada
de la Liga MX, ya que la MLS anunció la cancelación de tres eventos que se
iban a disputar entre las ligas de México y Estados Unidos.
En comunicado
emitido por la MLS, se anunció que este año no habrá Leagues Cup,
Campeones Cup ni el All-Star Game ante algún combinado mexicano. La liga
anunció que el reembolso de las entradas para los eventos del All-Star Skills
Challenge se darán a través del sistema Ticketmaster.Sobre la segunda edición
de la Leagues Cup, en la que se enfrentan los mejores equipos de ambas ligas,
se especificó que se reanudarán las negociaciones con los directivos de la Liga
MX para poder realizarlo en el 2021.
El duelo de la
Campeones Cup estaba programado para el 12 de agosto en el CenturyLink
Field entre el Seattle Sounders y el ganador del campeón de campeones de
la liga mexicana. El duelo volverá para el próximo año con los equipos
ganadores de cada temporada.
