de tres clubes diferentes; serán aislados por 7 días.
La Premier League
ha anunciado este martes que, tras realizar 748 test de coronavirus Covid-19,
se han registrado seis casos positivos provenientes de tres clubes diferentes.
Según el
comunicado oficial que aparece en la página web de la competición británica,
"la Premier League puede confirmar hoy que, el domingo 17 de mayo y el
lunes 18 de mayo, 748 jugadores y personal de los clubes fueron testeados para
COVID-19. De todos esos tests, seis dieron positivo en tres clubes".
Además, la
Premier League ha comunicado que "los jugadores y el personal de los
clubes que hayan dado positivo ahora se autoaislarán por un período de siete
días".
Por otro lado,
avisan que "la Premier League está proporcionando esta información a los
fines de mantener la integridad y la supervisión de la competencia". Eso
sí, también aclaran que la Premier League "no proporcionará detalles
específicos sobre clubes o individuos por cuestiones legales y
operativas".
Cabe recordar
que, en las últimas horas, la Premier League había dado otro paso para poder
reanudarse, puesto que el lunes celebraron una reunión los 20 clubes y
decidieron por unanimidad que se pueda volver a los entrenamientos grupales a
partir de esta semana.
Unas horas antes,
el ministro de Cultura de Gran Bretaña, Oliver Dowden, había reconocido que
están trabajando para que el fútbol pueda reanudarse en Inglaterra a mediados
del mes de junio aunque siempre con estrictas medidas de seguridad.
“Lo que
buscamos, pero no está todo decidido, es terminar la temporada a puerta cerrada
desde mediados de junio en adelante. Tuve algunas discusiones constructivas el
jueves con la FA, la EFL y la Premier League. Estamos trabajando duro con ellos
para intentar volver. El objetivo es mediados de junio, pero la prioridad
número uno es la seguridad pública. Si podemos hacer esto de una forma segura.
