Arsenal are reportedly waiting to learn whether Leroy Sane is set to leave Bayern Munich this summer. The winger has been offered a bumper contract extension offer at the Allianz Arena, but it is unclear whether he is willing to put pen to paper with the Bavarian outfit
If not, Sane will be available as a free agent this summer. Since leaving Manchester City in 2020, Sane has been consistently linked with a move back to the Premier League, and the coming months could finally see a return come into fruition if he snubs Bayern’s fresh contract proposal.
The Gunners are firmly in the market for attacking reinforcements this summer, both centrally and out wide, after their lack of depth in the final third was highlighted last season by a major injury crisis.
Arsenal have shortlisted Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko as two of their key No. 9 options, whilst alternatives like Brighton’s Joao Pedro are not being ruled out.

Similarly, they have a host of options out wide to challenge Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka. Sane is among those, but his potential availability has not gone unnoticed around Europe and several sides are keen to acquire his services.
According to FC Bayern Insider, Arsenal are currently waiting to learn whether Sane wants to join the club this summer or whether he will extend his stay with Bayern. The German international is said to be keen to move to London – having also held talks with Tottenham – but there is still a chance that he commits his future to Vincent Kompany’s project.

Turkish clubs are also alert to the situation, with Galatasaray reportedly already making a lucrative contract proposal which would see the 29-year-old earn £10.2million per year. Fenerbahce are also willing to offer Sane a significant contract if he is willing to move to Turkey, with a contract offer which would see the winger earn a salary of up to £12.6m under consideration.
The prospect of returning to England could still prove decisive to Sane though, especially with the incentive of potentially being one of the final pieces of the puzzle as Mikel Arteta looks to finally lift the Premier League title after a series of near-misses.
