The Bayern Munich star got England off the hook as the Three Lions sleepwalked their way to an unconvincing win against the rank outsiders
Harry Kane saved England's blushes as Thomas Tuchel's side eked out an underwhelming 1-0 World Cup qualifying win against minnows Andorra in Barcelona. In an 'experimental' starting XI, England struggled to find their groove against a resolute Andorra team on Saturday evening.
The lively Noni Madueke looked the most likely to find the spark to unlock the home team's defence, as his fierce drive stung the hands of Iker Alvarez from the edge of the box. The Chelsea winger was instrumental in his side's best early chance as his run and cross set up Curtis Jones, but the Liverpool man's heavy touch let him down, and Kane couldn't turn in his cutback from six yards.
Seconds after Kane's toe-poked effort was well saved by keeper Alvarez, the England captain made it 1-0 when he was on hand to turn in Madueke's cross in the 50th minute.
As Andorra continued to deploy the lowest of low blocks, substitute Eberechi Eze nearly made it 2-0 against the 173rd-ranked outfit, but Alvarez was equal to his rising header.
This game very much had an end-of-season vibe about it, something that was summed up by Madueke's miss at the death. Although England made it three wins from three under Tuchel to top their World Cup qualifying group, but this was a day to forget.

Goalkeeper & Defence
Jordan Pickford (5/10):
The Everton hero had virtually nothing to do as he watched his team-mates stutter their way to an uninspiring victory.
Curtis Jones (5/10):
The Liverpool midfielder was played in a more unfamiliar right-back role, and while he wasn't troubled defensively, he wasn't quite up to scratch when getting forward, as he butchered a glorious first-half opportunity. Unsurprisingly, looked more comfortable when playing in the centre of the park.
Ezri Konsa (6/10):
On the rare occasion that Andorra did get forward, the centre-back put in an important block to preserve their clean sheet late on.
Dan Burn (5/10):
The Newcastle United centre-back wasn't really put under any pressure on another international outing for the big defender.
Reece James (5/10):
The Chelsea ace has played most of his football at right-back, and on occasion in midfield this season, but wasn't tested at all at left-back. There were no free-kick heroics this time.

Midfield
Jordan Henderson (6/10):
You know what you are going to get from the Ajax midfielder: a hard-working and competent performer, whose best days are probably behind him.
Jude Bellingham (6/10):
Tried to inject moments of quality into the game but was well shackled throughout the encounter.
Cole Palmer (5/10):
The Chelsea ace had a rather quiet game, as he struggled to stamp his authority on the contest - perhaps leading to his substitution just after the hour mark.

Attack
Noni Madueke (8/10):
He was England's best player. Repeatedly had Andorra's defence on toast and probably deserved a goal for his threat and creativity.
Harry Kane (7/10):
Showed his striker's instincts with England's opener and worked hard for his team in a creditable performance.
Morgan Rogers (6/10):
Didn't get many opportunities to shine but when he did, the Aston Villa talisman oozed class with his skilful runs.

Subs & Manager
Eberechi Eze (6/10):
Nearly scored with one of his first touches off the bench but didn't have many chances to shine.
Trent Alexander-Arnold (5/10):
The incoming Real Madrid player did not seem at the races when introduced into the action.
Declan Rice (5/10):
Didn't do a great deal when he was brought on.
Anthony Gordon (6/10):
Was a nuisance for Andorra when brought into the action.
Morgan Gibbs-White (N/A):
Too little time to make an impact.
Thomas Tuchel (5/10):
The German knew Andorra would be a tough nut to crack but there was a lack of urgency and quality about his side. When a cricket score is expected against minnows such as these, anything short of that may be deemed as a failure but Tuchel won't be too pleased about this display.
