Man Utd are reportedly in talks over a summer swoop for one of PSG's Champions League-winning players.
Man Utd are reportedly in talks for Goncalo Ramos.
Manchester United have held transfer talks with the representatives of Paris Saint-Germain striker Goncalo Ramos, according to reports. Ruben Amorim is searching for alternative options after losing out on his top target, Ipswich Town's Liam Delap, who has decided to join Chelsea in a £30million deal.
Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen have been heavily linked with United, while Jean-Philippe Mateta is also said to feature on Amorim's shortlist. However, whether the Red Devils possess the pull factor required to lure their leading candidates to Old Trafford without Champions League football remains to be seen. And it's claimed that other options have emerged via clubs looking to take advantage of Amorim's desperate need for a new striker.
According to TBR Football, the newly-crowned Champions League winners PSG are among them, offering Ramos as they plot to cash in this summer.
The champions of Europe splashed an initial £55m to sign Ramos from Benfica in 2024 following a season-long loan, but he has become surplus to requirements.
Luis Enrique favours his unstoppable front three of Ousmane Dembele, Desire Doue and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, as well as Bradley Barcola.
The starting trio showcased why in PSG's 5-0 mauling of Inter Milan in Saturday's Champions League final, while Ramos played the last six minutes.
Ramos' camp is said to have been talking to clubs around Europe and the Saudi Pro League after being informed that PSG wish to part ways.
And the report states that United are one of the suitors in discussions over accommodating a potential escape route, with the Parisiens initially eyeing a £50m fee.
United were previously linked with the 23-year-old before he made the switch to France in 2023. Rasmus Hojlund later arrived from Atalanta in a £72m transfer.
The interest reportedly was mutual until PSG entered the race and took him off the market, but it's unclear whether the appeal faded in the two years that followed.
United started their summer spending by confirming Matheus Cunha's arrival in a £62.5m move from Wolves on Sunday, the first day of the window.
But Amorim will know he needs more firepower, and the Portuguese head coach is reportedly planning for two more attacking arrivals.
A centre-forward is undoubtedly on the agenda, but United's current attention appears fixed on Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo amid competition from Arsenal and Newcastle United.
Amorim needs player sales to fund further transfer activity, but there is a feeling that every member of his first team has a price.
